Sat on la rambla right now blues, food is cheap but drinks are on the expensive side, just forked out €6 a pint, although you can get some deals with food. does anyone know where most blues are going for the pre match beers? Also, out here on my own for this one, if any blues in similar situations or just feel dead sorry for me, pm me if you fancy meeting for a pint!

6e, I'll give that place a miss, cheers
Ditto

La Rambla is just a by-word for "lets rip off the poor unsuspecting tourists" or "guiris" as they are perjoratively refered to.
Try the back streets off the Rambla and the Gothic quarter "barri gotic" or just keep your eyes peeled for boards and posters outside with offers on beer etc. " Cañas y tapas" are all the rage atm and go for a euro where I am. The competiton due to the crisis here has in general been good news for the punters.

Couple of mates have posted they were in here;

Whereabouts you spotting these places mate? My hostel is in the gothic quarter and I've found nowhere that cheap. Had a full walk of la rambla and all the back streets and found nothing that cheap. Just went in a tobacconist and bought a sic pack of San Miguel for 3€ and sat in my room!

Another heads up blues that haven't arrived yet, if you are getting a cab from the airport they will rip you off. Not sure if it's similar to the 'extras' in black cabs in Manchester but my taxi driver told me 15-20 euros to my hotel, it hit €27 by the time I arrived so I thought what the hell I'll let him have it, turns out the final price was €45, he had some kind of hidden charge of €18, due to his poor grasp of the English language I couldn't argue the toss despite my lack of trying. Get the aerobus, drops you off on la rambla IIRC and definitely won't cost you €45, if it does I will never complain to stagecoach Manchester again.
