i can see messi getting dragged into this and a big court case happening that could take years

Can I first say I am thick. Now I have admitted that please can someone explain what is happening.
It seems to be about them paying PR people to slag off players. If so why are the police involved? Is it because the PR company did not pay tax on the money?

I know you can't say but it sounds like someone had his fingers in the till. That would make more sense, see my post above.

No, he paid them in 5 installments of €200k so that he didn't have to declare it to club members (think the threshold is €250k).

Money laundering is part of the enquiry. PR fee overpaid with balance going elsewhere?
