UEFA have appointed Turkish referee Cuneyt Cakir. The deputy chairman of UEFA's Referees Committee is Senes Erzik, also from Turkey.

Senes Erzik has strong links to UNICEF, for whom he worked as a project manager. UNICEF has partnered Barcelona since 2006. #fcb #cfc

Then a load more about how Erzik is involved in Turkish match fixing and Fenerbache. Anyway, (Just skimmed over this bit) an official (Dereli) was told that he would make the Uefa elite list but then it got announced that someone far less experienced got promoted (Cakir), this was apparently influenced by the Fenerbache president.
