Barcelona v Real Madrid (22/03/2015)

I thought Suarez's goal was world class.

It wasn't as glamourous as a 30 yard shot into the top corner, but it was brilliant. To control a 40/50 yard pass like that and then a great finish at a tight angle was very impressive. 2 touches was all Suarez took there, one touch to control it and the other to score.

Not many players in the world could have scored that goal IMO.

The diving and play-acting was embarrassing, I hated it. Suarez in the first half to get Pepe booked and Mascherano's laughable attempt at getting Ronaldo sent off were awful. There's no need to taint the game by doing that.

I thought the quality on show was unbelievable. The first goal with Messi's delivery, Benzema's flick for Real's goal and Suarez for the winner were all pieces of play of the highest, highest quality.

Nobody in the Premiership comes close to those two teams.

If yesterday showed anything it was that Benzema's still got it while Bale and also Ronaldo seem to have a dip in form.

I think Real may end up changing their mind about possibly letting Benz go.
Ronaldo despite not having his best performance had a decent game. Was involved in a lot of the good Madrid build up and scored. Had a few other testing free kicks, but drifted out of the game when Modric tired and Madrid lost he midfield. As for Benzema I don't think he is underrated much at all. He had a dip in form when he was not fit and lazy, but was always regarded as the best striking talent of his generation.

Actually, he is their most important and influential player, even former Barca's center defender Abidal makes this statement.
If they wanted to upgrade upon him, they would have hardly even a handful of options in the world ( Aguero being one of them in my book ).
Not sure Aguero would be an upgrade. It's fairly close between the two of them and Aguero lacks the all round ability of Benzema. Benzema often works harder for the team, cannot hold up the ball better and has better link up player. Aguero is the more deadlier striker though with better finishing and off the shoulder movement.

It's amazing the difference standards people use for Messi and Ronaldo if Ronaldo "had a decent game" I could of sworn Messi created 3 or 4 great chances during this game yet everyone says he was poor.

Yet Ronaldo is the Ballon d'Or winner.

Benzema's flick for the goal was unbelievable, but the pressing of Benzema and Suarez was night and day. Suarez haraassed Real Madrid's two centre backs and his workrate was unreal, Benzema in comparison didn't do that at all IMO. Like Bale, I thought Benzema went a little missing in that second half.

Benzema has quality, excellent link-up play, but I don't think he's a world class striker. Certainly not the best of his generation.
