Barclays Player of the Year - VINCENT KOMPANY

Mancini must take some credit for Vinnys award, turning a decent defensive midfielder(who admittedly played defence in his younger days) into a world class centre-back, and a club captain that inspires those around him to give more for the cause, though by his own modesty he will put the award down to his defensive partners(particularly Lescott who has formed a formidable partnership with Vinny) Hart, and Barry/Yaya and De Jong who put up a shield in front of them.

Pardew deserved it, to have Newcastle in that position is absolutely astounding and I don't see how you could not give it to the man.

But more importantly, congrats to Vincent, thoroughly deserved. Heart and soul of this team, couldn't be happy for him!

Congratulations to Kompany for the POTY!!
Are there any more awards to be given?

Most handsome fan ! it was a private ceremony and i enjoyed it very much.

I getthe official thing sometime in the near future, aka SOON

lol, yes yes I know something historic will happen SOON on Sunday..
I was asking if Barclays had other awards like young player of the year, best newcomer etc. etc.
Looks like they don't..

btw, I know Pardew was deserving of this award, given the players he had..but what would it take for Mancini to get a manager award..is it because we have world-class players in our team that they think not much planning or tactics is required for winning a game?

Mancini has being excellent for us but Pardew probably does deserve it more. I wouldn't be too sure if Pardew would have gotten the award had it being the rags sitting at the top of the league.

Anyway, greatly deserved award for Vince.

actually dont think our vince has had good a season overall as lescott defensively.
but when the chips are down, he's stepped up to the plate, delivered and now he's on the brink of manchester city greatness.
fully deserved

It appears that Mancini might not ever get the Manager of the Year award then, given that "moneybags" Manchester City is an easy job with all those resources to call upon.

Strangely enough, this view did not preclude baconface from picking it up on a regular basis...

It's all part of ''the agenda''™, don't you know!
