Barclays Player of the Year - VINCENT KOMPANY

Without a doubt, Vinny is the best centre half i have seen in Europe this season.

Far and away the best player i've seen in the premier league this season.

And soon to be the best player i've ever seen in a City shirt.

erm...how? he's not even been the best player at City...

Kyle Walker piping Aguero to the Young Player of the Season proves that anything pretty much can happen.

And it's probably about time they give Vince some sort of official recognition.

Twitter is telling me I won Barclays Player Of The Year... It's never sure until Google says so... So let me check.

Mmm, Google confirmed... :-)

I'm really grateful but I must say straight away that I wish I could share this award in particular with my defensive partners...

Vincent Kompany‏@VincentKompany

... They are all incredible @pablo_zabaleta @gael_22 @JoleonLescott and those not on twitter. The prize is theirs!

Don't need to say that obviously right now there is only one thing on our minds and it is the game on Sunday. Much better prize to share ;-)

Vinnie is a worthy recipient: been the league's best defender over the last two seasons and a fantastic leader this season. Just needs to lead us to glory on Sunday.

Both worthy winners.

To those saying Mancini should have won manager of the year, I'm afraid I don't agree. It's all relative. We've achieved slightly above what people would have expected thanks to Mancini, but Newcastle have completely destroyed people's perceptions of them in the best possible way. Not only that but they've given the rest of the league hope that through good management and a bit of luck one day they might challenge the top 4.

but is it City's fault that the media writes crap articles that changes people's perceptions every week from one extreme to another?
Don't get me wrong, I'm happy that one of the deserving managers got the award, unlike the other award ceremony where Kyle Walker, of all people, got an award, but based on what criteria will Mancini ever win a manager's award?
If it were just people's perceptions, then the rags can also claim that, even with their rubbish squad, their coach still managed to be level with us on points.. so this cannot be a valid criteria..

Well done Vinny, I see the Beeb have done a big splash story on it...

Hint: Click on the Pardew story and it's hidden away in one line halfway down.

Edit: The twats have changed the article now, it was as described above for about half an hour!
