Absolutely baffled me this one last night.

Didn't understand why Chelsea were after him in all honesty. They signed Drinkwater and already have Fabregas. I'd quite us to push for Barkley as a potential Delph/Yaya replacement next summer. He's the type of player a top class manager could mound into a superstar.

My guess is conte thinks he can get him to play the really good games more often.
And it might be by allowing him to do more of the stuff he's good at.
Conte reminds me of Mancini tho. Not a man to be crossed, that might of frightened Barkley off at the last minute, you can't walk in the office and argue with either!!!
