Those don't look like the career-to-date stats of an unintelligent midfielder, in fact I'm pretty sure they're better than Nasri's for arguments sake

Why compare them? They have different jobs to do on the pitch. Milner is more versatile but Barry plays his defensive role very well. A fully fit Rodwell will be the eventual replacement for Barry.

I'm not really just comparing them directly in this game, it's a wider point that people who criticise Barry for a lack of pace don't appreciate what an intelligent footballer he is.

Similarly, people who rave about Milner's work rate and attitude don't appreciate how bad his final ball and decision making is.

Would you start a thread saying Nasri vs Yaya Toure? All players have their strengths and weaknesses. I think you're right on both appraisals, though. Milner couldn't do Barry's job on the field and vice versa.

Milner not good at all today, Barry having his usual game, Nasri not bad but far to lightweight, Aguero doesn't look like scoring, apart from that normal performances all round, with Zab the outstanding player for me.

Oh and Silva not doing enough, not sure if that's down to good defending but not on the ball nearly enough

It means he's one of the least intelligent footballers I've ever seen. Takes his 3 touches before he decides what he's going to do. Premier League physicality, Sunday League decision making

It's one of those big American double-doored fridges, too. But Barry has got football between his ears and not in his legs. Milner is a different player and so there is no comparison with Barry. Teams need both kinds of players.

I don't think it's an either or. Bit of a daft thread really they both do much different jobs. It's like comparing Yaya with Silva.
