Barry

Against a Wigan, Fulham or any other team that won't hurt you, i think he is the perfect player to have in the squad. He should not be played against the top teams though.

Yes. It was Barry who couldn't make a forward pass. Or put a cross in. Or control a simple pass. Or win a damned header.

It must have been Barry who kept dribbling into poinless alleys. Barry did everything De Jong usually does. Won interceptions blocked shots and won tackles. It is not his fault that Dzeko couldn't control a ball. Or that Tevez chose to lose a pass in our half, or that his bloody teammates couldn't put in a damned tackle after he had thrown himself at one.

After making a wonderful interception and finding Kolarov wide open on the left. It was Barry's fault that the dolt at LB decided to shoot instead of cross.

Of all who played tonite, Barry did his job better than most. So it is ridiculous that you are all here again making dumb claims.

Tell me what of note: AJ, Dzeko,Milner,Kolarov, and Lescott did. Anything at all? I sure can point to things Barry did. Matter of fact- I believe I have 2 mentioned above already...

But it is back to blame the guy I don't like night. When is the Yaya thread gonna pop up. Normally if it is not Barry it is Yaya who sucks.'

Will you guys get to it, or do you need me to open one for you?
This is the case. I was there and only Komps and Barry came out with any credit last night . The number of time Barry 'mopped' up last night was countless. He is incorrectly crtiticised on here but so was Alan Oakes who was a real stalwart for City. Some knockers on here need to go to games and stop watching on telly

Cast your minds back. We beat Liverpool at home and Barry was getting loads of praise because he was top draw. All off a sudden he is shite. Mind boggles

Scoring that goal against them is all he's done all season.

He's been shite all season. All of a sudden my arse. Mind boggles if your think he's good enough for a top 4 side.
Anyone can make a claim as to who is or isn't good enough for a top so and so club. This is all fkuff talk.

The direct question is whether he did is job or not. Whether he made defensive stops or not. Whether he was involved in the game or not. If the answer to those questions are yes, then he has done his part. Not to mention everyone will have poor days and good days. But it is rich of most fans to pick on Barry everyday.

I repeat, yesterday Barry was one of the best players in City blue. Does that mean he was great? No! But he certainly WAS NOT the problem. Clearly intercepting six attacking plays, blocking 3 goalbound shots, and clearing a cross headed straight for Suarez all constitute positive additions by a defensive midfielder. Not to mention being involved in the game at a higher rate than anyone else. He had 65 possessions of the ball. YaYa had 63 meaning they were both involved at 2ice the rate of any other player on the squad. The average was 34 touches.

P.S: De Jong often averages 35 pass touches a game. We are talking almost double here. That aside, none of the goals were a function of something he did wrong. 2 of the 4 offensive plays we had he was involved.

Simply put the only way you can claim he was the poorest is to be biased. He made more defensive plays than 90% of the team. Completed more passes at a higher percentage trhan 90% of the team. These are just facts, that spurious opinions cannot change!!!
