Barry's Fault For Both Goals

Re: Barry Fault's For Both Goals

Disagree in part.

Both goals were ultimately goal keeping/defensive errors.

Goal 1. Hart should have held on to the first shot, did excelent to get to the second but we should have had either centre back getting in before Gomez for the fatal blow.

Goal 2. Hart should have parried the ball out of play - simple basic goal keeping coaching, should neve have presented to back into Gomez. Again, centre back of Richards should have closed him right down.

Up until that point we were their equal and argueably we should have had the two penalties... but there you go. Last night we were taught a lesson in how to play Champions League football.

Take the lesson and move on!

Maybe its because ive come to expect better from this player. But last night Barry was not himself. If you cant see he had a stinker then you should go to Specsavers, and to come out with the "your post comes across as someone who has an agenda" comment is a little bit cheap. I have an opinion, like you have yours, cos we dont agree it allows the thread to carry on, and takes people's focus away from the Tevez issue aswell.

I accept other people have opinions. My post wasn’t an intentional chip dig but you have to admit that that it is ridiculous to blame one player and create a thread which encourages scapegoating. There were at least 5 players worse than Barry last night. That’s why I find it ridiculous that he should be blamed.

Barry did not have a great game. He was overrun in midfield and was trying to do the job of two or more players.

Like some others have said, the midfield was outnumbered. There is no way they could have coped for the entire 90 mins. Even with De Jong or Milner added to central midfield, in addition to Yaya and Barry, we would have struggled too, although we would have coped a bit better.

Re: Barry Fault's For Both Goals

tolmie is spot on - when we play top teams and even when we are playing inferia teams who suddenly get aup a head of steam ala Fulham - our midfield is not dominent / good enough to get a grip of the game with just yaya and Barry.

I'm amazed that Yaya never ever gets substitutde yet some games just pass him by as hes justt not mobile enough when teams move it around quickly.

We should have had Milner in there then played a front 3 without Nasri who has been a big let down except for the spuds game.

A two man midfield, a slow immobile one at that, fighting with one hand tied behind our backs from the very beginning.

Yaya is not a holding midfielder and Barry will always be exposed for pace at such a level.

Yaya can no longer justify a starting role in this current formation.

But peoples answer is De Jong - who is slow and immobile himself. De Jong is the slowest of the 3. He didnt change anything when he came on and Bayern still went through us with no opposition.

Is this a joke?

He's been out for 4 weeks and comes on in a game we are being taken apart and you think he should have chaged the game dramatically?

So you are saying that Hart is not a top goalkeeper?
What medication are you on,exactly?
He made half a dozen world class saves.
Or at least he did in the game I was watching.

I wasn't putting the boot in, clearly pointing out 2 mistakes that he made that led to goals.

Some of you want to get off your fucking high horse this morning cos of what Tevez did. The club will deal with that matter.

But if we cant come on to a forum and discuss how the goals were conceded then this is a very sad day indeed!
What you mean is if we can't come on here and agree with you then its a very sad day.

Because I'm sick and death of city fans (and you though I won't lump you in with the rest of us) finding the need to blame individual players for goals. The first was too central to push around the post and the 2nd was a fantastic save to get anything on it all.
