Barton at Wolves, and Wolves Henry {merged}

Well I like Barton. There I said it.

He’s an idiot but he was our idiot.

He did so many bad things it would take me hours to document, I like to remember him giving his shirt to disabled fans and putting in a good shift in a city shirt. It was a simple time when players kept their mouths shut and didn’t go out of their way to fuck the club and fans over when they left of wanted to leave.

Working class lad done good - kind of beating a few cabbies and scallies half to death along the way with some prison time thrown in for good measure. You got to love the guy.

After all is said and done he still looks like he can play a bit...

He will get a good reception from me when he returns as I am sure the majority of city fans. He did a good job for us, cost us nothing and we got what £6 million for him pretty much what we cleared from the Ireland deal and with none of the shiting on the club and fans from him.

top post alera.

just watched Barton get kicked all over the park and he handled it well. Henry should've been sent off twice for that last 'tackle' an' all.

Henry, dirty bast*rd, 3 challenges that were all at least worthy of yellow cards. I hate how the referee just offered Barton no protection what so ever.

His reputation obviously plays a part on the pitch, which is completely wrong.
Decent enough player but the less said about him as a person the better.

It was clear Henry had an agenda, People opinions are splitt on Joey, he drinks in my ex's old local, upton tavern in Widnes, was always cool to sign autographs.

I'm a fully paid up member of the Barton fan club, and I too can vouch for this. I've seen him in the Tav on numerous occasions and he did seem quite embarrassed by the attention he got. Never gave it the "Big-I-am" unlike certain other professional footballers.

In my opinion, he was the only shining light during the gloom of the Pearce era, especially the 2006/07 season. Dread to think where we'd have ended up without him that season.

biggest hatchet job since 'teamsky' took it turns to foul SWP in the derby a couple of seasons ago. the referee wants banning.
absolute disgrace, i know Barton's no angel.
but MOTD's 'experts' laughing and joking about it was unbelievable.

Shearer , so called Newcastle fan and 'legend' what a disgrace.
hope their fans turn on him....doubt it though.

Top man Barton , him James Dunne and Distin saved this club and would not be in the position now without them 4 could not give a shit what does off the pitch.

Relegated without a doubt. Not saying he single handedly kept us up, but his effort, determination and drive on the pitch went a long way towards it as well as demanding more effort from the other players.
Without him in that team we would of been down and our History could of been so different.

can someone tell me exactly what happened? lol

He was on the receiving end of the sorts of 'tackles' he himself has a history of.
