I can't see Basel going hell for leather and trying to chalk up five goals. I'd like to see Foden and Diaz start. We aren't gonna get a better chance to see how they manage from the beginning, and getting a good hour from kick off!

Perfect time to keep squad in shape and test the depth in specific positions. Bench key players for insurance. Rest Walker for a little head wobble, the general and kdb,

To really see if they work, you'd have to test all of those options individually. Can't make all those changes and then write off whoever has a bad game, cos that 11 have probably never played a single minute of competitive football together before.

I've seen some people say it would be great to see a first start for Foden, and they're right, it would be great... if that hadn't happened in December.

Without disrespecting the tie or the competition, I'd like to see De Bruyne and Walker nowhere near this game. Possibly D Silva and Aguero also.

All of them could do with a break before Stoke away on the 12th.

We'll have Delph back and hopefully Fernandinho and Sterling too. It'd be nice to see Foden get another start.
