Basic manners, keyboard warriors etc

No, it's that people have always said that the forum was better in the past. Some people think it's due to rose tinted glasses. I have always disagreed with this and thought that when a forum reaches a critical mass then it enter an Eternal September which never ends

A bit like January in gyms

I don't think the analogy here is quite the same because we have a steady influx rather than a tidal effect. I do think though that it is much more difficult to engage with and for characters to emerge because of the sheer volume. So Scarblu, fetlocks, buzzer1 etc wouldn't have become as popular because they would have been swamped. It is difficult on a thread to have a conversation with a hundred posters all chipping in

They deleted my account when I criticised Van Persie.

That was just before he went to the rags and they started giving him stick themselves

Hypocrites

No that's the point about Eternal September. Whereas previously there would only be users flowing in in the pre-season/January it would take them a month or so to "get" the site and then things would be fine. But now we have constantly new users registering that there's never a time where people aren't new to the forum

So it's rising flood water that is drowning individuals? That's why mods need to be different IMHO. I don't envy you but I am not sure you can get as involved as you seem to. Maybe it's just how much of your time it takes up, but getting involved in controversy where you appear to be aggressive makes it harder to accept your moderation because if you are in an argument that ends up with warnings or bans makes it look like you abuse your position.

I thought most new posters were different versions of Daz.

One of the aforementioned moderator guidelines is to not moderate contentious threads or arguments that you are involved in. It's better to leave it to other mods, precisely to stop the allegations of abusing your position.

Ok, thanks for clearing it up, at least making that clear will allow posters who think the mods do take it too far now have a reference point. That's a good thing and should enable threads involving mods the opportunity for a head wobble

Fuck me. Just read from page 25. What a terrible waste of life.

Damo can you stick to Aliens, Mars and Astronomic stuff. Rather read 200 paragraphs on how space bends and stuff, not having a clue what your talking about then reading 200 paragraphs telling a poster about the code of conduct and what a twat he is.

Hey ho. Bluemoon hasn't changed, just gets accused of going down the pan every few months with various reasons. I remember a few years ago a few people saying that 'Non City Fans' were the reason that Bluemoon wasn't the same anymore, now it's the abusive mods, next it will be something else.

people have come and gone, we've had highs and lows. ultimately your all a bunch of northern smelly monkeys but I wouldn't want to spout rubbish and review a album anywhere else.
