I used to like a John Deare or two. Not any more though.

Cheapest approach is specifically labelled anti-mould bathroom paint. Got to be worth a try before considering anything more radical (and costly).

clad it in white tongue & grove UPVC, fix to ceiling with pink grip and job done

Yeah, I like this option the best. Never need a can of paint again.

What about Mould forming under the cladding ?

Anti damp paint? After doing the removing and priming bit. Plus more ventilation !

Chalk paint would do it

This is what I used. Not sure if you can get Benjamin Moore over there but it’s the only paint that any decent professional painter will use over here.
