Challenger1978, people are very obviously talking about influence in the musical sense. And in any case, The Smiths' lyrics certainly inspired people 'as human beings' way way way more than Roger Waters' lyrics (however good they may be) did. I'm sure you'll agree with me on that, regardless of what your opinion of Morrissey might be.
Honestly no
To be honest with you its the whole sound of the Smiths I don't like. Morrisey voice goes right through me, its a weird nassal southern whale and the actual music is a bit shit as well. Half the time the guitars sound out of tune the other half the time they're to tinny. Maybe its deliberate I don't know but it sounds shite to me.
No offence

Why do you keep going off the subject? Whether or not you like The Smiths is totally irrelevant. We were talking about influence. Then you went off subject and starting talking weirdness about influence 'on human beings' or something, which was clearly not the type of influence that people were talking about.
Anyway, if you would rather have a discussion about the merits or otherwise of The Smiths, can you tell me a track where a guitar is out of tune? I've never heard a guitar out of tune on a Smiths track.

Its nothing like that they just don't sound very good to me. If you like them fair play everyone's different and has different tastes. To me there fucking awful its as bad as listening to my dads music i.e. Andy Stewart.
