I don't think the Clash were truly great - Just like the Pistols, they were newsworthy and that's about it.
There again, after I saw Television / Ramones etc I didn't think any British 'punk' band was particularly good.
I know I'm probably in a minority with that on here, but I'm just a Yankophile when it comes to music.
I'm with you on Television/Ramones/Stooges/Patti Smith/Sonic Youth and a whole lot more seminal US bands,but Oasis aren't even the best band from Burnage!
