Had tickets in 1994 for the In Utero tour, sadly never got to see them.

I actually quite like some of their stuff but Britpop was formed as a response to the sick-of-life outlook, depressing tone and suicidal tendencies that followed the grunge scene.

Noel wrote "Live Forever" and "Cigarettes and Alcohol" as a 'yes, life can be shit but you've got to look in the bright side so...fuck it!' kind of note to grunge. I think many bands had the same idea as Oasis and so did a lot of British people.
