Bayern away

From the airport or inner city area?
We're staying in a hotel in Zone 5. Just trying to weigh up whether it's worth buying a Day ticket or if it's cheaper to buy single tickets.

I believe with a match ticket we can use the trams free of charge getting to the game???

Will be sharing a taxi back to the hotel after the game.

Having lived in Munich for 30 years here´s a couple of alternative tips away from Beerhalls which have been mentioned so far....

Sports Bars

http://www.the-keg-bar-muenchen.de (Ubahn stop Giselastrasse on U3 or U6)

https://nedkellysbar.de/ (Marienplatz)

These bars are best sports bars in Munich if you want to watch games tonight. (both sell Guinness!)

Irishbars

https://kiliansirishpub.de/ (Marienplatz)
https://www.kennedysmunich.de/de/ (Sendlingertor)**

**I personally am not going to vouch for this one, as the doormen are a bunch of Kuntz but if you get in I suppose its OK although not great for sport as they dont have sound on. I wouldnt spend a single Euro in that place but dont let me put you off!

If anyone is staying till weekend, bear in mind 1860 are at home on Saturday and will be over before the FA Cup semi starts!!

Hope to see some of youse tomorrow!! Enjoy this crackin city, just a pity the weather isnt a bit better.
Cheers for the recommendations mate.

Quick one for someone who lives there (@bavarian blue also!)
I will need to get from the airport out to my hotel which is on the 512 bus route (15mins from airport) and then into Marienplatz. From the ground back to the hotel after the game I am hoping to just get a cab.

Would I need a Airport-City Day Pass to cover me for my bus out to the hotel, back to the airport and and then train into the main city centre? I fly home Thursday morning so need for anything longer than 1 day.
