If you didn't book with them why should they.

Yeah, why would you want to help out someone when they clearly could do with it? What goes around, comes around - you give help, you get help, you act like a selfish cock, you’ll be on the receiving end. One day.

Don’t come back with “if everyone did that, there’d be chaos” shite. This was a situation when there was space on a coach to help someone when it could have come on top. c**t’s trick.

would they even be insured? bloody hell if you want a lift book with the firm.

Totally agree DN, save yourself the hassle and go with Spike and all the organisational stuff he does - I’ve been with him a few times, brilliantly organised, worth every penny, but where there’s a person/fan/whoever who could do with a lift, especially when it’s costing you/the company nowt and there’s a real chance you’ll save them a royal hammering from opposing fans, well, I just happen to think you put aside things like worrying over insurance.

right slightly off topic ... sorry
and it is a pretty cheeky question but if I travelled to Rome independently from Edinburgh .. could we cadge a lift on Spikes buses to and from match to avoid any possible trouble?
obviously would pay
Not a chance mate, parked at Napoli airport when we played them and tried to get a lift back to the airport with them instead of going back into Napoli centre for a taxi, the two cockneys running it gave every excuse under the sun to not to do a blue a favour
If you didn't book with them why should they.
Your not stalking my posts are you mate?
I only sit in 212 so if you've got a problem come and talk to me.
Followed city all my life and in all my years of watching city through thick and thin blues have always looked after each other. Went to Napoli, city website said there'd be transport from Naples airport, so we flew into Rome, drown to Napoli, parked at the airport, got the bus taking the London arrivals to Naples 6/7 blues plus us, one of the lads on the bus had just split from his girlfriend and on the spur of the moment decided to do his 1st away game, he asked us if he could join us for the day and being blues said of course. After the game there turned out to be no transport back to the airport bar spikes/ thomas cook, we asked the police, they directed us to spikes bus, we asked the 2 cockneys cunts ( gooners) if we could get on there 3/4 full coach, that's me, my son, my mate on crutches and the lad we had met. It's full mate, not company policy, any shit but your not coming on, in all my time of watching city, be it city ticket touts, hooligans or like the majority of us just fans, we when it comes down to it look after each other. We ended up back in Naples, taking one of the few cabs available at the port and as we left we passed a lad and his young son and then 2 blues trying to jump into a white car at the traffic lights thinking it was a taxi in the panic that ensued, yes organise trips are for profit, but when something like Naples happens common sense prevails and blues look after each other. That wouldn't have happened in the 80's and I don't know if the lad that got stabbed would of got a taxi, but it would of been one more taxi available, making maybe 3, I have no problem with you bill, but I suspect you have one with me. I haven't travelled on an organised trip since the specials finish and have no plans to do in the future

not stalking your posts mate i promise, to be honest i rarely i mean very rarely even look at the poster who i may respond to. i suppose thats a good thing cos it means i just say it as it is with no fear or favouritism.
anyway. sorry to hear your story, perhaps that wasn't put over as well in your post, that or i didn't get the gist of it. my point about spikes lot is they do have people who "latch on" to thier trips when really their only onus lies with their paying customers. i know the guys you mean, well i think i do, they are decent fellas. if they knew your plight they would have maybe reacted differently. perhaps they are told by the bosses to take the stance they did.
your point about blues helping blues though is spot on, i'm sure if a blue travelling indipenently had transport they would help out. l
last year i decided at the very last minute to go to Munich, i just turned up at the airport around 5 am, spike couldn't get me on his plane, try though he did but i did get on the tommy cook one after some help from the club. from there bredbury blues sortrd my trasnsfer and put me up in thier digs. i paid my way for this but they were all so keen to help and arnie was a proper star. mind you they wern't gooners :)

please feel free to pop over at the next game, get me away from wife and kid for a bit.

I've read on here several times that the two gooners running it are great lads, their trip had already had trouble in sorrento(where they'd gone to avoid it)the night before, so they knew our plight and should of employed a bit of leniency, but they were a pair of jobs worth that couldn't be reasoned with. Europe is un chartered territory for most of us blues, that's why we love it and the unexpected is going to happen, you never know they might need a favour from us one day, but being blues we'll still give em a hand
