Bayern Munich (Friendly) | Post Match Thread

Has anyone got the final stats for the match? At one point ESPN said shots was 20-3 for city with on target 5-0 for city. That was impressive considering they are the 2020 UCL champions and the game was only 80 minutes.

The officiating, especially for a friendly, was shocking. He was letting tackles fly in (especially on Grealish) that would have been scrutinised for possible sending off in league matches, with barely any consequences.

Same could be said for the Club America match (again, especially for Grealish).

Luckily we don’t have another there otherwise we could have ended up with a few injured based on the “protection” being given to our players.
He was out of his depth. It was very noticeable at the start when players and officials were lining up for photographs smiling for the camera the ref had a stern grim look. He then proceeded to let bad challenges go and blow for some good ones.

A good training session and getting some game time in the legs
standouts for me were Wilson Esbrand at left-back and Grealish and Haaland took his goal well,
but some late tackles going in on the city players and the officials looked dodgy and clueless at times,

I think pep and city need to sort a game out midweek behind closed doors at home and get some more game time into the players
I'll go with that and add that Rodri was class

Strictly speaking, it should be Håland. Just showing off, and heading for a fall if there happen to be any Norwegian blues looking in ( there is @Norwegian_Blue for a start!) but I think it's a more closed sound than “ah!”, more like “aw!” That's what I heard when I was in Norway, anyway. Right or wrong?

There is a town (well, a village, really) in the group of Lofoten Islands in the far north called Å. That's it, no more. Must be the shortest place name in the world, (or part of a very restricted group). I didn't go there, just to be able to say that I had been to “Aw!”
Haaland is also written with å by some families here in Norway. You're right about the pronunciation, it's more like aw as in awe for instance. Erling himself is ok with people saying it like ah as that's easier for most folks it seems.

Just wait til we play Liverpool next weekend, they'll be doing their best to take our players out for a length of time if they can.
Even if they get a straight red (which will never happen) I reckon they'll be happy with Milner or Henderson missing a few games if Haaland or Kev are out for 6 months.
We've seen them be overly physical on our players for the last 5 years or so and get away with it so don't think it will be any different this weekend.

I have no doubt those scouse ****s will be.

Let’s just hope our lads put us 4-0 up by halftime and Pep can get our crucial players off.
