Bayern Munich (H) - CL QF | Post Match Thread

Don't know if this has been said...

You have to be happy with 3-0 in the first leg, but there's just a tiny bit of me that wonders if we could have finished it off tonight by bagging another one or two. Haaland missed one in the first half that he would normally have buried. And in the second, we had numerous golden chances and ballsed several of them up. Gundo in particular was doing my head in at times.

We'll probably go through now I guess but we've left the door just a tiny bit open for some Bayern onslaught in Munich, whereas another goal or two would have removed any tiny doubt.

Still, as I say, you have to be happy with 3-0.
Credit to their keeper who kept the score down to save them getting a proper battering . I doubt Sommer will pull off as many vital saves next week though.

Just got in and not read any of the thread yet. What a great night. That was a brilliant performance from all the players. Not many teams will do that to Bayern. We could have had 6 or 7 goals in the end, their keeper made some great saves.

So many amazing performances but Bernardo just about edged it as MOTM for me. He's a joy to watch.

When we bought Ake it looked like £40m was a lot of money for what people assumed would be a back up player. That was an absolute steal for the player we have had this season. He's quality every game.

Grealish looks like a different player since the WC. He's been outstanding.

The atmosphere in the ground was good too.

On another note, what was that banner about from the Bayern fans, the cheeky cunts?

Both managers were hugely impressive I thought. The scoreline doesn’t show it, because football is a game of moments, but Tuchel gave Pep some huge problems today that he had to solve on the fly. And vice versa. The constant back and forth between the two in the tactical battle made this such a high level game to watch. One of the best we’ve had for a while in that regard. And Pep will have also learned more about our new shape and how teams are going to look to nullify it. That sounds like a weird thing to say after a 3-0 but honestly Bayern/Tuchel did so many things well, only for a wonder goal and huge individual error (Upamecano) to effectively decide the match. We just had one of those games where we were unreal in both boxes. The key moments went our way. But for a large part of the game it could have gone either way. Then once it was 2-0 that’s when all hell broke loose and we could have KO’d them tonight, if we haven’t already. Great game and great performances from the players and manager.

Tuchel is an absolure arsehole....

I like Germans, I know some lovely Germans, but self deprecation is not one of their characteristics and neither is self awareness.
