Surprised how many would give Mangala his debut.

When Mancini picked Nasty against Real it was a big risk - one that could have set the lad back. Luckily it was a successful gamble.

I can't see Pelle doing similar. And why would he when we've already got a "new" right back and when Demi's playing so well? He will enjoy facing his old club.

P.S. Just heard a report that Ribery might be a doubt for tomorrow.

Mangala isn't some young lad with no experience, he's played plenty in Chumps. It's perfect for his debut, imo.

IMO the Chelsea game is better suited for him. Costa is a powerful player who's also good in the air. Mangala's strength is his strength and he's good in the air. I think we need a player who's got more experience and better footballing smarts vs Bayern so we should go with MDM. Expecially is Ribery and Robben are out or not 100% fit. The rest of the team really lacks pace so MDM's lack of pace isn't as important.

I agree

Against Bayern possession is key and MDM if nothing else is comfortable on the ball and retains possession well. Against Chelsea we'll need power and strength where Mangala will come into his own, Costa's movement will cause problems so Kompany and Mangala will both need to be on the top of their games.

At the other end you can gurantee Mourinho will put Matic on Silva so he'll have to be cute and drag him out wide to create space for Yaya, we really need Yaya to turn up on Sunday.

There's no need to rush Mangala in when Demi is doing just fine. A back four is solid when it's left unchanged, albeit we rotate Kola/Gael and soon Zab/Sagna.

Mangala will probably be more useful against Chelsea due to his pace and power, something Demi lacks. Demi will suit tomorrow's game as he's generally assured on the ball, although he was pretty poor in that department against Arsenal.

IMO, keep Alonso and Muller quiet and we could get something here. Lewandowski has yet to settle although knowing our luck, he will choose tomorrow to have his break out performance! Even 1pt would be excellent. Do not look too much at last year's win there, that was an anomaly with Bayern complacent having already qualified. They will be more focused tomorrow and even with players out, very dangerous. But it's Alonso first and foremost we have to close down, he has been excellent already there and will try to control the game. Someone should drop back and keep an eye on him.

Yep

I think he'll play the same formation as last season with one up top and Silva just in behind, like you say we need to cut the supply.

really tiresome how posters on this board continually put down our performance in munich last season , we had 6 players out , and munich played their strongest team , and i seem to remember they were taking the ball to the corner flag for the last 5 minutes hanging on for a defeat , They will be without robben and ribery and they have also sold kroos , never a better chance to put rummenigge and his self righteous club in their place

I expect big things, I think we want to make our mark in this competition, we've won the title in 2 out of the last 3 seasons and I think our next, hate to say it, "brand leap" is to make a storm in this competition, especially after FFPR.

I think this is where we step up for the season tomorrow, and take the momentum into Chelsea and go on a run.
