Bayern one of only six teams better than us now

Okay, I'm an Everton fan (remember us? we beat you 3-1 in the semi final of the European CW Cup in 1985, back when we had a real team) and I will try to be as objective about this as possible.

Robben and Ribery - the so-called "Robbery" combination at Bayern - are major creative forces, but I don't believe either are as good as Silva or Nasri (for example).

Schweinsteiger would be good enough for any team on earth, along with Neuer. And Philip Lahm is certainly as good if not better than anyone at City. Mueller too is a great young player, but not better than or even equal to any of City's major hitters.

Rafinha and Badstuber are not that hot, IMHO. Maybe only Gomez is worthy out of Bayern's current squad to join Schweinsteiger and Lahm as truly elite standard, but I'm still not sure because he's doing it in Germany against weaker teams than he would face in England.

Bayern are Germany's only super club in terms of finances and honours; England has 4-5, so even when some of them are in decline (like Liverpool or Arsenal), there are always other major powers to come up against. This year, City have Man Utd and a sneakily improving Chelsea to contend with. When Bayern are having a good season, nobody can ever seemingly resist them; other sides only win the BL when Bayern have injuries, in-fighting, in other words, an "off season".

So... I'm not saying City will win, but they should pose a much greater threat to Bayern's defence than any side they've come up against so far this season.

A - I know, I was there.

B - I absolutely disagree but it's all opinions.

C - Müller destroyed England almost single handed last summer.

D - I'll agree with some of that but it's difficult to say for sure.

E - Of course but in Germany we neither have nor want rich foreign owners. We are not on a level playing field with the premier league but are willing to accept that because we love the independence and fan friendliness of the BL.
Given the amount of money we spend compared to the amount you spend I think we do extremely well.

F - I agree.

Please don't think I'm being funny, but seriously, how the hell are we 7th?! Don't get me wrong, I'm happy we're there on that index, but HOW?!

The bundesliga hasn't got four or five teams that would cut our league. Bayern are and have been dominant over the years because it is a poorer league. No matter what you think Robben was not that good in our league, yet storms yours, Boateng simple could not handle our league and often pulled out of tackles, yet again does well in germany. How many of your team are actually better than what we have? Ribery has only played in the poorer leagues he has never done it in a top league over and over. Doubtless he is a good player but i think in his career he has taken the easy option. Gomez is your main.threat but again will he do it against higher quality defenders?
I guess I am talking uttet crap because I do think your players are inferior to ours.

Boateng hardly had a fair run at City, jury still out. Robben didn't do too badly against your city rivals, neither did Ribery.
Ferguson wanted both of them. Gomez on form would score against anyone.
We have six of the German national team in our usual line up, Germany don't do too badly.

Just read on kicker.de that Ribery has being saying that this is the strongest Bayern team he's played in... Should be a great match, can't wait!

I agree, big ask tomorrow. They have some quality players and seem to be on form. They never really got on form last year but they are doing the business at the moment. Going to be a really difficult match.

Bayerns record so far this season is phenomenal. 9 games 9 wins 26 goals scored 0 against.
Thought monchengladbach bet them 1 -0 at the allianz?

The nine games are six in the BL, the 2 CL games v Zürich and the CL game v Villareal.
The defeat v Gladbach was before any of those.

id be delighted with a draw tomorrow in Munich.
However if Napoli beat Villareal then they open up a gap on us
My predictions for the remaining games
Munich A -Draw
Villareal H- Win
Viilareal A- Win
Napoli- A _ Loss
munich H draw

Enough points to go through ?

A few quotes from todays German media :

"We know on Tuesday we will be facing a stronger side than Leverkusen. This is a real test for us". Bastian Schweinsteiger.

"Confidence is high, but we know the real tests are yet to come". Phillip Lahm.

"Bayern are on a different level to the rest of the Bundesliga. It's frightening when you see Robben coming off the bench". Rudi Völler - Leverkusen general manager.

"It wasn't as spectacular as in recent weeks, but that was the plan if we went two goals up early on. We have a big CL game on Tuesday against a good side, we stepped down a gear on Saturday as we will need power for 90 minutes against City". Jupp Heynckes.

"He's pretty good. I'm still dizzy". 18 year old Leverkusen debutant Danny de Costa the day after his unenviable job of marking Ribery.
