Bayern v City (Post Match)

HeHe! That's fuckin brilliant. "Paid him good money for three seasons for doing fuck all"

I hope this kind of article leads to a sea change in the way we deal with these pricks from now on, maybe giving snippets to favourable journalists who write stuff like this. The manager won't take any shit from them, that's for sure. Not a more contemptible prick in the media than Mills and that's saying something.

I often think that it is very difficult to judge players as a whole as the match is much more complex than we often remark. It is not only about the minute a player has the ball every match but a lot about right positioning and doing the right runs, about giving cover or providing cover shadows, about so much things you only can recognize when you watch a match very slowly.

The guy who had the better passing might have made it a lot more difficult for his fellow because of his wrong positioning...

You post some good stuff Maldeika, but I assume you didn't see McManaman's analysis on BT Sport?

His analysis was that none of the young players did anything, and that Yaya, Delph and Bony stood out when they came on.

Now everyone will have an opinion on those 3 senior players. Personally I thought Yaya didn't do much, Delph was eager but low on quality, and I thought Bony stunk the joint out. He took up a couple of good positions, but his touch and passing was very rusty.

But the major problem with McManaman's analysis is his comment about the young players. How anyone could have paid attention to that match and not thought Angelino showed great promise? I simply don't believe he could have been paying much attention to the game if he didn't see that.

Maffeo struggled a bit against Ribery in the first half, but showed plenty of promise in possession. Aradiboyo made a mistake for the goal, but again showed huge amounts of promise. Zinchenko looked absolutely fantastic, outstanding technique.

How on earth McManaman could pick out Delph, Yaya and Bony for praise, but fail to recognise Angelino and the other young players, is beyond me.

Switched the TV on this morning and got a FULL replay of the game - what a surprise that was.

Some promising youngsters out there for that game.

And just logged onto to ESPN and saw the scum goy hammered by Dortmund, brightened my day immensely

Another great day out in Munich. Started in the Augustiner beer garden, as usual, with @JC2 and the lads. Got to meet Aussie blue, @billymumphrey, too. The problems started when we got the train from Marienplatz to the stadium. The train was full to bursting and stopped for about 10 minutes at each stop, until it stopped in the middle of nowhere for about 20 minutes. The sweat was lashing off us at this point, then suddenly the doors opened and everyone got off the train, in between two stations! We helped a few older people off the train, then followed the crowd to the stadium - on foot! Missed the whole of the first half as I didn't get inside until half time. My ticket was for block 126, and I think they let too many people in as the stairs/fire exits were crammed full. Any way, had been promised a lift back to Innsbruck straight after the game, which I politely accepted. The car was in the multi-storey car park near the ground, and it then took us an hour just to get out of the car park. Pissed off that I missed most of the game, but the ticket only cost me €15 plus the €8 bus ride from Innsbruck, so it's not too bad. Next time, I think I'll head to the stadium much earlier!

We ended up in the other end of the stadium, right near the Bayern supporters behind the goal. Saw the goal assisted by the Ref's arse.

Despite the result, and the saga of a train trip, well worth it. Thanks to Innsbruck and @JC2 for a good laugh!

I think the more obvious the pundits are incorrect (such as you describe) the more those who are simply muppits will agree.
Conversely the main human viewing public whatever their team support will disagree and realise Mr M. is simply wrong in his view of the youngsters.
