BBC licence fee

Look you hate the BBC. You are trying to force your minority view - again I refer you to the viewing figures, many people would greatly miss the BBC - If you are unhappy about paying for a service you don't use then as has been shown to you don't pay it if you are not a user you aren't compelled to - that way one little flame of your inner anger will be extinguished.

I will remind you we are commenting on a thread called "Is it time the BBC was privatised?" And how exactly are you not compelled to pay a TV license if you watch live Sports? So your showing me something you don't obviously understand...Why do you think it is feasible to pay £160 annually to watch a few games of football a week on Sky? I'm hardly binging on Songs of Praise like your fine self.

Therefore the correct answer is "no. It should not be privatised". My view carries the same weight as yours in a country of 65m people. Hope that makes you happy.

that'll be the station who has Kuenessberg living and breathing every Johnson word? The one that platforms JRM and has a man who represents no party on nearly every political programme Nigel Farage - that left leaning one?
It comes as no surprise whatsoever that you're one of the handful of people in the country that doesn't think the BBC is left leaning.

Wait till the next Question Time is on mate, they will all be back frothing at the mouth demanding change at the BBC!!!!!

The fact that people on the right think its left biased and people on the left think its right biased tells me it ploughs a pretty central furrow

One study of bias demonstrated, rather amusingly, that it may influence interpretations of bias.

Vallone, Ross and Lepper (1985) found that when two groups of partisans watched a relatively unbiased account of an issue, each construed the segment as biased towards the other side.

I've just read somewhere that there is a private members bill to decriminalise the license fee. If that gets accepted/debated etc; the Conservatives massive majority could see it happening.
Apologies for no links, this shitty laptop keeps having a fit of the vapours, if anyone can find it, and if I've read it right, they should be able to put it up.

I've generally been a defender of the beeb on here, but after seeing today's princess Di style interview of Harry Maguire and the Klopp 'we don't want messi anyway' stories getting top billing we might as well pay 157 quid a year to mutv or babestation.

Wow what a vote winner. By the next GE the BBC will be like it was in the 70's - BBC1 virtually blank except the lunchtime news until childrens telly starts at 3.50pm ( CBBC will have been shut down ) then all the way through to close at 11.30pm.
BBC2 starting @ 7pm and closing after Newsnight.
R1's 1,2,3,4 being the only radio - no local radio stations
Sounds and iPlayer very restricted same with the web page. Probably just simple news coverage and sports page full of dipper and rag crap - the public will love it as the fork out £110 pa for Netflix, £300 pa for SKY + add on packages £73pa Britbox to name but a few and those are current rates which will doubtless rocket once the BBC is forced to contract.
Still at least the gammon will be able to rail at biased SSN presenters happy in the knowledge they are spending over £500pa but saving @£160.
