Sorry it has seemed to have got side tracked a bit perhaps for the best sometimes,Jerry could turn his jet fighters out no problem what he lacked by that stage was trained pilots to fly them and fuel to put in them.The pz4 was easy to produce but again man power and fuel shortages mean't they could use the ones they had, the Panther once its teething problems were over come was an excellent tank.meanwhile back to the thread.

Bit of thread drift crept in...

We would have been even more fucked if they had managed to build the thing that we found the plans for and nicked....few tweaks by Chadwick and his merry men and is if by magic...A Vulcan.

Back on thread, I would never be frightened off going places by these twats, but I am kind of relieved that I rarely have any reason or inclination to go to town centres or big public events. Like it or not something like the new years eve festivities in London are easy targets for a determined well organised group and more so an unhinged solo nutter. Almost impossible to defend from attack.

You'd like to think the success of our intelligence services in prevent atrocities like this on British soil owe something to information from the Muslim community in this Country its in nobodies interest for communities to grow even further apart.

I dont doubt there are are good few very very brave Muslims here and abroad taking massive personal risk to keep the security forces informed of any suspicious goings on. Infact I would suggest without this we would have been hit many more times than we have.

The rise of the right in Europe even more after this. I'm sure there will be many "surprise voters" quiet with their intentions who'll vote hard right if it gives them more peace of mind for safety from this sort of stuff in their own country. I'm glad we're an island; I could only imagine we'd otherwise be hit time and time again with it.

Does this go to show you can't be a globalist and a liberal? Surely indicates you can't be a meddling globalist and a liberal anyway (in terms of welcoming all). Quite an unfamiliar stage in history it feels we're going through - either globalisation is proving unrealistic, or at least you can't push to make it happen quicker; if those that would push for it don't accept this, it'll mean significant deaths where there wouldn't otherwise be.

I would suggest the reason we havent been struck more is simply down to the security services being able to access intelligence and information as a result of what many people complained about and called (on here in a thread) "the most extreme surveillance law in history of democracy" or some such nonsense
 
Sadly only a matter of time until it happens here again. Stuff like a random in a truck is just not predictable until they mount the kerb and start killing. I'm sure the security services can keep tabs on large fertilizer purchases or extremist chatter, but any idiot can hire/steal a lorry without it registering.

I think it will be a big one here, like you say only a matter of time. A small group carrying out a suicide raid with AK47s and vests like the attacks in India or Kenya on an easy target such as the Trafford Centre, Just imagine how many infidels they could see off before an armed response unit could even get there let alone take them out. Even bring an aircraft down over a populated area, An A380 on approach over Stockport would be a juicy target for a terrorist armed with any number of simple to operate shoulder launched anti aircraft weapons. All widely available at a most reasonable price to any loon with hard currency, outlets in Pyongyang Beirut Damascus or Mogadishu for those that like to haggle and get a bargain. If you want to shop for your weapons more local you can always go and see a man about a dog in Dublin.

Its a bloody awful mess and its going to get alot worse before it gets better.

We were at war with the Germans yes.

The point about the Nazis was pertaining to the extermination of several million Jews but that appears to have been lost.

Purplenose started this and then has made lots of posts on it after he originally posted that "The Muslims" had been using trucks for decades to commit terrorist attacks. But me pulling him up on it is apparently "part of the problem" whatever the fuck that means.
 
I'm positive that, as has been reported, there was some intelligence that an attack was likely. I live in Berlin at the moment (around a kilometer west of where the attack took place) and the police presence has been huge over the last few days. Obviously, the amount of tourists here increases the number of police at this time of year, but it certainly seemed like there was a big increase in police on the streets compared to last year.

The atmosphere in the city, unsurprisingly, is awful this morning.
