I just think the producers specifically want fans who have a bit of a clue not the usual media fan spokespeople like Dave, Kevin, Gary etc. So Andy Green (the financial blogger andersred) isn't going to be there for them and he's a media regular.

At the end of the day, nothing is going to be decided by what anyone says in a BBC studio.

Its nice to see some people have such little faith in us Col ;-)

Just so that there's no doubt... I have total faith in the guys (the ones I know are attending, obviously don't know who the others are) appearing on the debate and believe them all to be knowledgeable, passionate Blues. They will do the Club proud and I have a lot of time for all of them.

I fully understand how this has all come about and want us all to support the guys who are giving their views tomorrow. They have done nothing wrong; there's no agenda; and it's in all our interests to ensure we give them whatever help and support we can.

Personally, I've only been asked twice by the BBC ever to comment on football (both times about 'Manchester' rather than a specific team), plus I made a brief appearance on Blue Tuesday during its first series and answered a call from Radio Manchester about England internationals one Saturday when I was on the way to a match, so I'm not a regular media figure which is, I guess, why they didn't consider me this time. The guy from the BBC apologised and said I wasn't on their contacts list and they simply didn't know me. It's not an issue at all to me.

It also means I can get on with writing my next book and my programme articles. Years ago I was interviewed by Radio Manchester and Radio 5 (John Inverdale) about a book, but apart from the couple of calls from BBC World Service & Radio 5 Live mentioned I haven't been involved in this sort of thing before, so it's all understandable.

Dave, by the way, told me he'd been asked but can't make it.

A date for your diaries... For anyone interested, I will be hosting a debate on Manchester football at the end of Feb/beginning of March (in Manchester Town Hall) and will be performing a talk/lecture that same week. It will all happen around the time of the Bolton game. It would be worth attending.

Thanks as always.

Surprised Gary's only been on the radio a few times. I've been approached loads of times probably because I was the founder of the Swinton branch, former chair of the Centenary Supporters Association, lead the Neil Young Appeal etc etc, so plenty have access to my contact details.

I've only ever offered personal opinion and that's all I'll do on Saturday. I doubt any of us can claim to represent the views of others.

I reckon Gary James would be an ideal guest (again) on Blue Tuesday and perhaps that other funny Radio Manchester Programme that goes out on a Wednesday evening. I'd guess Gary has Ian Cheeseman's email address, if not send me a PM and I'll give to you. Ian's always looking for guests so could be worth contacting.

I don't know about the other four but I'm well pumped up for tomorrow and confident we'll put on a good show.

It will be fun and great to meet you mate.

Fanzone is now officially a media whore BTW and it wont be long until he gets his own cable show.

I'll have my crutches with me, one's going in Fanzone Danny's gob so we can get a word in, you can choose your own entertainment with the other crutch but please wipe after use.

Yes, fbloke, you and PB have clearly been recruited as part of the Illuminati Agenda against Manchester City. This programmme will be beamed around the world including Abu Dhabi. I'd make sure you don't make too much of a hash of it, or The Shiekh may decide not to bother any more.

Now I'm scared.

What if I were to drop an aitch or two would I be in trouble?

Shit, I'd better not refer to the Sheikh as 'that arab bloke' as well then?

And the joke about Roberto being so defensive when you consider the Italian attitudes to war will have to go.

Jesus, I'm in trouble now........

probably best to keep the smart arsed comments to a minimum - but can you manage that I wonder?

If the rags say oh we not worried we always better after new year, ask how Do you know that! If they just say we all know the rags come good second half of the season "so you haven't got any stats you just believe BaconChops and the media about this Mith that's only happened 25% of BaconChops managerial years" Oh Mancini second half season record is better than BaconChops AV IT!!

Good luck tomorrow lads. I know you'll do us proud.

I honestly dont know how you can do it to be honest. Just been asked to take part in a top ten list programme for CityTV and on the point of politely declining. Proper camera shy me.
The thought of live radio...fuck that.

Anyway, as morale boosting goes this probably isnt the best one ever.

Good luck!

It is always said that City have a big squad, so they are able to cope with injuries, suspensions and fatigue better than other clubs. But, surely as all clubs can only name a 25 man squad for each tournament, all squads are the same size. Shouldn't it be changed to City have a good squad while others don't. And how can this be when another manager has been in place for 25 years, he has not managed to assemble a decent squad?
