BBC Radio 5 live on Saturday - Soundbites needed

how about you have allegedly got 400 million "fans", so that means for your Carling Cup quarter final 0.01% of your fans turned up, puts your fantastic support into perspective

also you say that you are a Manchester club and that most of your fans come from Manchester, how fucking big do you think Manchester is, a city with a population 8 times bigger than the whole country?

then I would say something about 6-1 you cockney swamp dwelling cunts, but you may want to miss that part out

We were in the Group of Death, everyone called it that, they were in the easiest group so there has to be something you can call it that sums up their failure. The group of life, the group of birth (don't think they work) but come up with a group name.

You can talk about City as third seeds testing themselves against might of the big leagues Italy, Spain, Germany and United testing themselves against the might of football powerhouse leagues such as Switzerland, Romania and Portugal.

when the cup is discussed our reserves winning at Arsenal can be compared to theirs losing at home to Palace.

also if they talk about the league we have already been to our two main rivals away in Utd and Spurs, they have had both at home! In fact by Xmas we will have played 4 of the Big 6 away they will have four of their 5 tough away games in the second half of the season. They need to be 5 or 6 pts ahead on Jan 1 if they have a realistic chance of winning

three colossal disasters the Derby, the Palace game and the Basle game - you can make the point that at least Basle was away. Three birthday presents fergie didn;t want.

The crisis they will be in by mid Jan, on Jan 8 they will be out of the Carling Cup, Champions League and FA Cup - officially the worst state they have been in in decades

Some great points here posted by Gary James on another thread...hit them with this when they are going on about us buying everthing...

"Worth remembering as a final point - it took Ferguson almost 4 years (with the highest level of investment in a squad that any manager had ever been given) to win a major trophy at Utd and 13 years to win the Champions League. Arsenal & Chelsea despite their investment and domestic record have yet to win the trophy.

Mancini won a major trophy in his first full season at City; took the Blues to 3rd place (equal 2nd on points!) and now has taken us through our first CL campaign with honour and into the latter stages of the Europa League, plus of course the League Cup semi and much to play for"

This ^^^^^

You must act with some humility though.
We broke our trophy drought last season, but they still won a bigger prize. Until we do similar, there HASN'T been a power shift.

Although going out in the C/L group stage for us was a disappointment, for the rags with their financial worries, it is a disaster

Let me assure you of this : We cannot 'lose' this debate as the evidence is there for all to see.

If the question is one of "Is there really a shift in power in football in Manchester?" then I wonder how the reds on the panel with prove that there isnt?

When I said yes to being on the panel alongside Fanzone, Prestwich and others I fully expected us to go out of the CL. United going out as well means that there is actually nothing that they have over us at all, the opposite is of course true.

So now all they can talk about is the past and what has gone before which is perfect for me.

They are still the current Premier League Champions
This debate is six months too early

I'd make it quite clear that a shift in power hasn't yet happened (past tense), but that it is happening (present tense) right before our eyes. We are living it, watching every step of it unfold on a weekly basis. Revolutions don't happen overnight. They take months of planning. One day soon it will have happened. Until then just sit back and enjoy the ride, and wave at them as we pass them on their way down.

I can't wait to meet that lot on Saturday. The shift of power is happening before our very eyes. Apart from slagging City off what have they got to say.

The only thing I'll give that lot credit for on Saturday is turning up. Our turn to rub their noses in it methinks.

First we took your banner
Then we took your dignity
In May we will take your trophy

Also, might be worth a pithy aside about how United have no songs left to sing after we tore up their songbook. 35 Years. Gone. Laugh at City. Gone. Pride of Manchester. Gone. 20,000 Empty Seats. Gone. Council House never full. Gone. City in disguise. Gone. Going down with a billion in the bank. Gone. What do they sing about now at Old Trafford? Leeds?!?!?!?

As per usual its the United the club, their manager, their player and their fans who are providing all the ammunition needed in these debates.

From scrabbling around for a new idea to replace the 35 years banner to their own managers comments about noisy neighbours we seem to be the only thing on their minds, weird that.

Not in my lifetime is another classic but I reckon Al' Fergie was right when he sated that Liverpool is still their biggest game.

After all they need to get used to playing for that Europa league against Liverpool and Stoke and even I would say Liverpool is the bigger game for United there.
