I can’t abide their online football output for obvious reasons, but I’m generally appreciative of their wider sport offering.
However just noticed they’ve got live coverage of baseball from the USA and they have also been showing American basketball.
Both of these sports they would never cover before, but now both are broadcast and not only covered on the website but also even feature in the 5 Live radio sports bulletins.
What the actual fuck is going on with all of that? Presumably they aren’t broadcasting them for free? (Or maybe they are).
Seems odd use of licence fee payers money to buy these rights when there is so much British and even European sport that isn’t shown. I’m sure it’s not a question off BBC Sport being subject to undue American interests, obviously.. just curious that’s all.
