Have to admit I didn't know SPOTY was on.
Although most people wouldn't have heard of the winner, I don't see a huge problem with it. Womens football in this country has come on a lot and the England team has done well last couple of years .Is it a coincidence it was someone connected with United who was nominated as their mens team is so shit at the moment,maybe? (got to say I did prefer what she was wearing last night to what we normally see her in though!)
The title 'personality' is a bit misleading, Andy Murray won it more than once didn't he? Good Tennis player, but doesn't seem to have much 'personality'.
Most awards don't mean anything. Ant and bloody Dec TV presenters of the year for the 300th time FFS! (Someone please pension them off.)
Having said that, from a totally objective point of view had we not won team of the year after our brilliant achievements last season(and winning the European Club thingy and getting to the final of this current one) it would have made a mockery of the award and made it seem totally pointless !

Actually - Andy Murray just has ironic humour - & his personality throughout tennis, is immense. Some just don’t get him.

Jack Grealish should have been SPOTY but fat chance of enough people voting for him.

City win 3 awards but the BEEB doesn’t make much of it. Didn’t help that no one from City could be there.

I may be cynical but why this year to give a former Scouse player a big award to go with a Rag getting the big award.
