BBCs Dan Roan banned by City for latest Vieira Interview

The only reason it's still on the BBC is that it starts with the words 'Man United'. It's all about hits but please tell me why I pay my licence?

However, Vieira, who has only heard about the Fulham incident and has yet to see it, also admitted that United are in pole position to claim a second successive title.

Seriously, I read this article a few times, and it just popped up when refreshing the page for the fifth time. Anyone else noticed this?

Viera says this at the start of the interview, Roan mentions it, Paddy says he hasn't seen it and intimates the reporter is only asking to get a headline!!

Apologies if this doesnt work but...

Manchester City executive Patrick Vieira says title rivals Manchester United benefit from preferential treatment from referees.
His comments come two days after visitors Fulham were controversially denied a late penalty in their 1-0 defeat at Old Trafford.
The result left United three points clear at the top of the league.
"When United play at home they get some advantage that other teams don't get," Vieira told BBC Sport.
“When United play at home they get some advantage that other teams don't get”

"I think when you go to United, Madrid, Barcelona, or Milan, when the referees referee these kind of games, it's always difficult to go against these kind of teams.
"This is the way it is. It's something the teams who are used to winning get all the time, so we need to win games so we have this advantage in the future."
With eight games left, City find themselves three points behind United, but Vieira - who took up a post as football development executive at Eastlands after retiring from playing - believes they would be worthy champions.
Speaking at the Soccerex conference in Manchester, Vieira said: "This is our moment.
"Since the start of the season we've been the best team and played the best football. I believe the club deserves it."
However, Vieira also admitted that United are in pole position to claim a second successive title.
"When you are first you have the advantage, they are favourites" he said.

Vieira recently said that United's decision to bring Paul Scholes out of retirement was a sign of weakness.
In response, Sir Alex Ferguson accused City of an act of desperation when allowing Carlos Tevez to play despite going on strike.
Vieira said: "We're glad Carlos is back. The quality of these kind of players will be really important at this stage of the season.
"The issue was between him and the club. The players were really pleased to see him back.
"Its important not to lose focus, so many things can happen.
"People try to build this fire between the clubs. The heat is going to get more and more."

Fair play to Vieira for taking a stand against pillock journalists who intentionally take things out of context in order to create a sensationalist headline, most players/managers would have just said nothing and let them get away with it. And fair play to City for banning him and for also taking a stand against it by releasing that statement on their website.

The BBC have egg on their face tonight.

Good to hear the other journalist back our cause(at least from what I've on the Sports Bar on TalkSport). Out of the Top 6 we are usually the most media-friendly club along with perhaps Arsenal. So we'd have to be really upset to ban him.

If you're talking about TalkSport's, when their player don't work for me I use this mirror player:http://tunein.com/tuner/?StationId=86779&

Don't ask why...but I had the misfortune to catch the first 10 mins of 'Red Wednesday' on BBC Radio Manchester with whoever their host is and Andy Richie (who seems a decent guy, but fell for the Vierra BBC spin completely). It was all about it being a sure sign City were cracking in just the same way Vierra lost his major confrontations with United in the past. (which I have no idea whether he did, or he didn't).

Given how crap the commercial media and t.v in particular are, I normally have no problem with paying my Licence Fee, because I believe the BBC standards to be better.....they are however severely testing my patience by funding this gutter journalism and then compounding their errors by feeding upon the non-story to keep pathetic talentless media types in employment (in effect, what Talk Shite do all day long).

It is only symptomatic of the depths the media have sunk to on so many levels, be it phone hacking, celebretity obsessions, tits out photoshoots and letters from the public that are clearly made up in their own copy rooms.. Self-serving parasites who should not be able to sleep at night, but they do!

...but to misquote a considerably more respectable source, "Why Always Us"

www.maineroadfc.com...we're in the semis!
