be careful of what you wish for

ok, we now have a divide in our fan base, if and when hughes is replaced there will still be a divide, there will still be players "not playing for the manager", we'll still get the sky refs doing their level best to keep us out of the top 4.

what do we do then, sack that manager?.

ok jose is worth the gamble, even hiddink, the resr though are not an improvement on hughes and in fact could do a lot worse, we will have wasted 18 months should that be the case.

the devil you know for me.
For me as well.

You say the manager has divided the fans. But do you see any anger in the stands at the manager? I don't. I see fans fighting with frustration, but I don't see banners or hear any chants.

agreed

Great post, the only way we can ever build something at City is if we stick by our manager even when we have a few bad results.

If you want to build a house but keep knocking it down before you put the roof on you will never have a house.

A white Chritmas and being stuck for the Stoke match.

I can see a few crashes on the way today too.

By this arguement we would have kept alan ball forever(god rest his soul), not sure keeping hughes because we might get someone worse is the most sensible way to achieve success

How you can say that Mancini is not an improvement I have no idea. Apart from winning 3 Seria A he also won 4 Cups with 3 different teams. He also dealt pretty successfully with a world star ie Ibrahimovic. Inter fans seemingly prefer him to Jose. What has Hughes won?

On an even higher note Rijkaard. 2 Spanish leagues and Champions League.. To suggest that apart from Hiddink and Mourinho there are no managers in world football as good as Hughes is absolute rubbish.

When he is sacked who will be lining him up? A mid table side with no money that's who.

hughes just never made the job his own and shut up the critics. while he's always under pressure he can't ever do anything but put all his effort into getting by. you'd have to admit we haven't signed a lot of bright young 20-23 year olds recently. these are the ones that will go on to be the top players that we can't buy at the moment. when you get them young you can mould them into what you need, get them settled, and teach them your way of playing football.... the right kind of big name will just shake off the pressure and think he's going to make it happen, think there is no way he can fail. he'll do what he wants. hughes has never looked like that man to me.

not saying there won't be problems as well

But decent builders build decent walls.
