Never really minded Beckham, the hype around him is apalling but he is one of the less objectionable rags.

But his "I was always commited to MLS and the Galaxy" fence mending is hilarious.

Keep an eye on this, we're seeing the worlds best spin merchants spin the unspinnable.

WC year coming up, will sign for London based club IMO

overated. big time.

built up by sky when he was a rag. 'the best crosser of a ball in the world'

who was bcitw before him or after him...... ? no-one, this was made up just for him !

and as for his half way line goal against the mighty wimbledon ! how many times have, and do sky show it ffs

alonso scored 2 better ones, but get shown very rarely.

and as for what he said about kaka and city and how top players only want to play at big clubs for trophies,

whilst playing for LA GALAXY.....!

laughable.

i really cant stand the guy but come on, alonso's goals were hardly better were they, one of them the keeper was up from the corner and the other the keeper fell over!

Bentley's and even Jonny Mac's at Preston against City were better.

I was surprised, recently, when my manure mates cited him as one of the hardest working players they've ever had.

For all his talents, I had him down as a lazy twat.

Twat of the highest order.

Took the dollar-then legged it when he realised that Yanks don't give a toss about football, and they'd sussed his wife was actually fuckin useless at anything other than singing like a strangled cat, looking more and more anorexic and wearing ridiculous specs.

Went to the place where old players go to die (Milan) and got the English media to agree it was totally unfair for the Galaxy to want him back to honour his contract in such a crap league on the grounds it might "spoil his chances of getting to 100 England caps."

The reason he did that u-turn on the Galaxy wasn't cos he wanted to get to 100 caps, he'd already surpassed that number. Obviously when he moved to LA he thought his England career was dead and buried, now he wants to ensure his chances of going to the World Cup. Can't blame him for that.

Yes, it's a bit unfortunate the way he's dumped the Galaxy so unceremoniously, but I don't blame him for wanting to play in another World Cup? Who wouldn't?

And yes, his goal from the halfway line was better than Bentley's. Higher degree of technique/difficulty involved imo. Mind you, some of Alonso's have been pretty special, and he seems to do them so often.

There will be a very different reaction from the fans here in the US this time around, the mood has definitely changed towards him.......and i have told anyone prepared to listen just what a tw*t he's been towards the MLS and its small but loyal fan base!!

Quality Misses though and if he pisses off back to Italy in the fall, i am more than prepared to offer my services to her...........i ceertainly wont be taking up very much of her time :-) !!!

"Unfortunate" is when you drop your pint.
"Being a twat" is signing a huge contract in an attempt to "break" America as a "showbiz" couple-then realising that you're a tiny fish in a very big pond...then bailing out on your employer with a "footballing" excuse and spinning the UK media to justify it.
If he was that arsed about playing for England then why not return to the PL for a couple of seasons after leaving Madrid then go to the MLS?
He wanted the cake aswell as eating it and it failed big time.
A ten year old could've told him that playing in the equivalent of the English third division would scupper his chances of playing in the world cup....why couldn't he see it?

Sorry-he's a twat.

I agree with almost all you have said, but... Don't forget he did get to play for England while in the US! It Should never have happened, but it just goes to show how much power the press in the UK have and how weak the current England manager is.
