Beijing meet up

You've got to admire the commitment of anyone going all the way out there for this.

Hope you all have a top time.

There's gonna be as many going to this as there was at York away.

(As you can see I've not read the whole thread - as I I've now seen others making similar references)

Beijing is fucking mental lads n lasses!!! Your eyes will pop out!

Smog, fit Chinese birds by the millions, endless shockingly awful road systems, dog carcasses in supermarkets, smells that you could not imagine, cockroaches and scorpions and snakes and testicles on sticks on street corners/markets, 5 quid for an hour massage....yes happy endings if you find the right Korean ones...foot massages, any western food you can think of including proper nice curries, cheap clothes, internet cafes for about a quid an hour in places. It's a lot to take in for an amateur traveller, but simply amazing.

Summer palace, Mao's tomb/mauseleum(sp?), Forbidden City, and Great Wall (Badaling less than 2hrs away), if you get chance!

Love the place.

Enjoy and be careful Blues!
Western curries, made me smile

It's always fifty fifty on here as to whether people are serious. All I meant was that I found a couple of quality, CLEAN, non-expensive English/Western style Indian restaurants. There are plenty of Kfc's, Bk's, McD's, Pizza Huts' and the like, for those who can't stomach all the offel and funny bits and creepy crawlies...and rice...that they eat :).

Has anyone invited Jools bikini along?

I know from a very reliable source that our old friend JB is in fact in England while City are in China.

Its a good place, for tourists, and the locals know it. That's why, if you don't want to get ripped off, don't go to Sanlitun to drink.

unless accompanied by locals ;)

so if it's Sanlitun
is it Poacher's/Youth club or
Paddy O'Shea's

Or both? ;)

Just sorting my stuff out, getting a bus to Heathrow at 5am, flight to Moscow around 9am, got a few hours to kill there and then on a flight to Beijing tomorrow night, so by Sunday afternoon I'll quite possibly be taking a look around Sanlitun (I know what Paddy O'Shea's is like)
