how are they with credit cards these days?

still cash everywhere or are they now being accepted in bars and restaurants?

They wouldn't accept Mastercard credit card or Visa debit for the tickets but they will accept local currency.
The hotel accepts cards, I'm sure I've used my debit card in bars here before now.
Going off topic a little, but last night in the airport in Moscow they were accepting cards until around 10pm then it was 'cash only, Roubles Dollars or Euros only' didn't want to know about Sterling. I eventually found a place that was still accepting cards (I didn't want to get any local currency from the ATMs as I was only passing through) Strangely enough, a Russian chap working at one of the bars had told me it was cash only, he then looked at my shirt and said City!, and then directed me to the place that still accepted cards. :)

A thought crossed my mind, who do the Eastern Europeans get to do the same jobs that UK ltd employs Eastern Europeans to do?

OK Chaps,
Just been talking to Karl (owner of Paddy O'Shea's) he's offering a 20% discount for City fans wearing the shirts on 26th, 27th and 28th. He says any queries email him on long.karl9@gmail.com

(he also said he'd offer 30% for Arsenal fans, I think he was joking...)

So there you go!

doesn't look good

The heaviest rainfall to hit China's capital Beijing in 60 years has left 37 people dead and stranded thousands at the main airport.

The deluge struck on Saturday afternoon and continued into the night, flooding major roads, state media said.

Roof collapses, lightning strikes and electrocution from downed power lines were among the causes of the deaths.

More than 500 flights were cancelled at the main airport, the Beijing News reported.

State news agency Xinhua said 460mm (18.1 in) fell in Beijing's Fangshan district, with the capital as a whole averaging 170mm.

Amazing stuff because it looks like business as usual here, my wife and stepdaughter travelled here by bus last night, met me at the airport where we got the airport express link train into the city, no problems whatsoever. It appears that there were some problems to the south west of the city, but this is a huge place. The only sign of any problem was that the flight I was on from Moscow was delayed 1.5 hours. Once I got to the airport here I can assure you that it was a lot faster for me clearing immigration than it was for my wife when she arrived at Heathrow mid January ( Me, Beijing this morning, around 90 minutes, my wife Heathrow, January over three hours)
As I type this it's actually 02:00 AM Monday here, but I'm referencing to UK time.
BTW, I didn't need a boat to get to the hotel

Based on my wife's and my own travel exploits over the last day or so, this appears to be a far more accurate report:

Alright lads my band Exile Parade are touring China while city are there and we’re doing an official Manchester City gig in conjunction with Umbro on the Thursday night in Beijing. We’re from Warrington and me and my bro have had season tickets for 20 years so we’re a proper city band – be good to see some blues down at the front!!! If anyone is in shanghai we’re also headlining Zebra festival on the beach on the Sunday beforehand – about 40,000 people there.
The Beijing gig is the Umbro Rock 'n' Ball at Starlive.
Our album is produced by Owen Morris (Oasis etc) and if you want to know what we sound like here’s a song for city...
