I saw Bert play several times and went to his testimonial at Maine Road in 1964. At the end of the game, he came over the tannoy and thanked all the people of Manchester who had been so kind to him.Bert was my very first football hero, a wonderful player. I can still reel off the 1956 Cup Final team as if it was yesterday. I have a signed programme from his testimonial that is a priced possession.
Yeah but they have commissioned a statue for the worlds greatest goal, after all it is all that they can just about celebrate now..Good to see it’s getting a panning from those in Trafford, London and Ireland. The Temu Trinity they’re calling it.
Cry more. It’s really hurting isn’t it?!
The horsemen of the apocalypse. It looks great and will be a good focal point at that side of stadium. But I see that city media are calling it the Holy Trinity. They were never known as that and the etitle has been claimed by the statue in Trafford - so just leaves us opening to accusations of plagiarism. It needs its own name and identity.
The original treble? The horsemen of the apocalypse.
Just call it better than best.It looks great and will be a good focal point at that side of stadium. But I see that city media are calling it the Holy Trinity. They were never known as that and the title has been claimed by the statue in Trafford - so just leaves us opening to accusations of plagiarism. It needs its own name and identity.
