Where's the big signings that Cook promised this transfer window?

If it was between Villa or Bellamy, then I wouldn't give Bellamy the time of day. I think as a human being, Bellamy is a waste of skin. However, as a footballer, I believe he has got talent. He was at Liverpool not long ago. They must have seen something to sign him. If Hughes wants him, he wants him for a reason and as long as Hughes is manager of this football club I will respect his decisions (it doesn't mean I agree with them, but I will respect them). If Bellamy signs for us, then I will support him through thick and thin for as long as he wears our clubs shirt. If he doesn't sign, then it doesn't matter. I won't lose any sleep over it!
It has already been said that he has scored 1 less so far this season than Shrek & 1 more than Berbaknob. Think about who his providing service for them 2 players and who is providing service for Bellamy. Also, think about who is providing service for us and who is scoring. The people scoring are the same people providing service, because the strikers we have got are not upto it. We could spend £10m and take a gamble on Bellamy, a player who has got vast Premier League experience and has already shown this season he knows where the net is. Or we could spend the money (maybe even more) and gamble on somebody else who could turn out to be another Jo. That is not an attack on Jo, I believe given the chance he will prove many doubters wrong. I think we either have to play 4-4-2 with him or another option is to stick him out wide (i.e. on the left, swap him and Robinho around). However, it doesn't look like he is interested in proving people wrong and is happy just picking up his pay-cheque whilst sitting on the bench.
As I said earlier, Hughes has worked with Bellamy on two seperate occasions and has got the best out of him both times. IF we sign him, I hope that's the case this time around. Yes, Bellamy could turn out to be a crock of shit for us....but at this moment in time, that's a chance I hope we're willing to take!
Cracking post. Still... Moomba can't understand these things.

I hate mediocrity as much as you or anybody else, after 30 years as a City fan and having seen nothing of note I am desperate for success, but you also have to get a little bit real. As we are unfortunately ably proving, money alone isn't a complete solution, especially in January. If you thought that overnight we would automatically become a major European superpower then you are deluded, and if you bought Garry Cooke's spin then you should have been more far sighted. Also, Cooke shouldn't be peddaling this stuff if it's not true, but he is a marketing man first and foremost, so please don't believe everything he says.

Try looking a bit further ahead than this window, right now we need proven players to boost us up the table, which is what Bellamy is, he's not a brilliant player, but he'll do for now. We need to build a solid team, and then add the big signings to that, rather than have a big jumble of star names. Also personally i don't believe a word that comes out of Garry Cooks mouth, he's a bullshitter, a PR man.

Well I can't argue with him being a proven player though there's probably one in there about his injury record.
But we are buying him to score goals and his goalscoring record is crap and getting worse every year as he gets older.

The way i see it is, he's basically replacing Vassell's role in the squad, as well as covering for the left-side. He's better than Vassell, and we don't have any real cover for the left-side, so i think it's a decent signing if it happens. Assuming Hughes will stick with one up front, i think we'll be signing another striker (Santa Cruz or whoever) to play the lone-role, so we won't be relying on Bellamy for goals as such, but more to chip in with a few. If we pay the reported free, West Ham are screwing us over, but then we were always going to get screwed over in this transfer window no matter who we bought.
