Although Bellamy would appear at face value to be trouble, and he would by no means be my first choice in our recruitment, let's not lose sight of the fact that the press will hype up any little incident, particuarly when you have a reputation for trouble. I found it very odd that the bin dippers sold Riise in the close season and did not get a better left back as a replacement. Maybe stuff went on behind the scenes that we don't know about which didn't reflect well on Riise. Also bare in mind that Toshack has made Bellamy captain of Wales, so maybe he has done some growing up, as Toshock could make a rod for his own back with a controvertial appointment like that. If Bellamy is a leader then that is something we are really missing on the pitch.

We are all entitled to our own opinions but I honestly can't agree that Evans, Caicedo, Benjani, Jo or Vassell are as good as Bellamy
