Bellamy to the dippers?

City are prepared to pay up Bellamy's contract and let him speak to Liverpool.

What, all of it? Why don't we have him play in the reserves then? Madness.

yeah thats weird.

I don't understand why we would buy out his contract to get him off our books? In the end wouldn't the buyout compensation be the same as his weekly wages? Therefore it's not like were saving money. Why pay him to strengthen a rival?

Maybe we get a trnsfer fee, or don't pay wages in full i.e a part settlement.

Good luck to Bellars. Good pro. Pity injury has taken the best years of his career

Bellamy was quality for us. He fell out with Mancini and was history ever since. Always gave his best, scored goals and created them. He has no possibility of playing at City with Mancini at the helm. I back Mancini but wish Bellamy all the best.

Good luck Bellars, always gave his all, you'd pay a lot of money for what gave us.
Just a little story about him that done the rounds locally in Wrexham where I live, when previously at the dippers he was fined for the infamous golf iron debacle, he was fined a months wages, half he gave to a charity the other half he gave to Wrexham f c who where at the time not only broke but bottom of league 2, his half months wages went towards getting two or three players in on loan, who kept Wrexham in the league, so Bellars can always get a free beer in Wrexham, sadly Wrexham went out of the league the following year, but only this week have been taken over by The Wrexham Supporters Trust who will run the club, my mates allways ask has our wonderful owner got a brother intrested in a small project !

Not sure it's a good thing strengthening our rivals, Spurs now Liverpool. Let's hope it doesn't back fire on us!

Agree 100% - i know at times his attitude off the pitch was questionable, but he never gave less than his all when wearing a City shirt.... Good luck Bellers (But not against City)

High five twitcher

So we pay up his contract, he hasn't played for us in over 12 months ( not his fault, granted)
We pay him circa £5m, we then strengthen the red dippers for free and he then gets another signing on fee and big wages.

I know he played well for us, tried 100%, but this doesn't read right and certainly not right for us.

Let him have a free, bad egg if he stays around, but don't pay him off too!

Can't see any benefit at all in this, and unless the stories like this and about the Adebayor deal are countered by the club (I'm hoping they're not true) we're in real danger of being seen as a soft touch for future transfers.

I think this well fall on its arse now the poisoned runt wants a pay off http://www.express.co.uk/posts/view/267273/Craig-Bellamy-seeks-Manchester-City-pay-off

WTF he gets his free transfer so he can move now he wants a pay off!!!!!! The club simply has to tell him to go f*ck himself if he wants another penny out of the club.

I for one would sooner see him sit out his contract and have him cleaning out the sh*thouses after home games.

That's my fear as well. We have set ourselves up as a charity rather than a business by the looks of it!

I'm all for giving Bellamy a free transfer... if that means the contract is cancelled. But if it means we're ALSO paying him off, that's madness.

Same for Adebayor. Loan him out by all means, but not if it costs us money. However, I am more confident that the Adebayor deal will see us paying none of Ade's wages. Or so it's been claimed.

I did say at the start of this transfer window that Bellamy was only ever going to go on a free, that talk of us getting £4m was fanciful.

I just hope the club haven't created an image where we "give away" all the players out of favour. At some point we have to make a stand and get some money in!

Its total nonsense by granting him a free it gives him the opportunity to sign for someone else and get a large signing on fee kerching!!! and then we pay him off as well kerching!!!!

Utter bollox, Barton has been given the exact same deal yet toon won't be paying him off.

If he wants a pay off, make him train with the under 18's. He'll soon change his mind.

again, can someone please explain to me why buying him out of his contract is a way of 'getting him off our books' if we are just giving him that same amount of money in one lump sum, only allowing him to join a rival in the process?

It is a shame Mancini doesn't like him because if Mancini wants more players but isn't being given the money to sign them, Bellamy is right there as an impact sub/secondary player, a role he'd probably accept at this point.
