I think it’s fair to say he had a good debut season. Consistently good, however people talk about him being consistent when he had 1 good year out of 6.

He never seemed to be the same after his absolute stinker against Callum McManaman in the Wigan cup final

If we spend 70m on Chilwell it will be like putting out the fire with gasoline in terms of the hate against our club. Spending that sort of money in the time of covid on a very average player would be unacceptable.

Not that I’d ever spend even half that amount on Chilwell, but the very last thing City should care about when considering a transfer is how the media and rival fans will react to it

We know that chelsea have been after him for ages and city have also been looking at him. We've also heard from Tolmie that City are trying to tempt Havertz but he could be boxed off by Chelsea. Chilwell has apparently asked to leave Leicester.

Crazy theory but what if:

Chelsea wanted Chilwell but can no longer afford him if they're signing Havertz.
Leicester are left with an unhappy player and want to improve their squad so they reduce their asking price to something City are more comfortable with.
City, with money to spare having failed to sign Havertz, go for Chilwell at a more palatable, if still silly fee of 50-60 million.
