It's like watching 2012 Yaya rampaging down the wing. Athleticism, smarts, anticipation, he's got it. Hope he never gets injured, Sane is terrible at LB.

Back in 2010 other fans ridiculed the 25m City paid for Yaya, who was just a "mere" DM. City are getting the same treatment for spending so much on a "mere" LB. He is going to be a huge asset for the team and for the PL as a whole, and people will change their perception about him
 
It's like Yaya is Mendy and Walker combined. The gangliness of Mendy and the solidness of Walker. Yaya is just pure class....I hope we'll see him playing again (whenever the latest dramas subside).
 
What's impressive is that Mendy managed to unite the different groups in our squad. Usually the spaniards hang out with the argentinians and brazillians, while the rest each have their own groups (british, balkans, etc). But with Mendy he just kinda mixes everyone in and I think it's great for the team. You look at Otamendi's instagram live and Mendy pops up there a lot of times. If you've seen his instagram live before the only people that shows up there is Kun. This might just be a small thing but I think it has a huge impact on the team morale.

Very good point. I don't follow instagram, but his positive impact on morale cannot be questioned.
 
So so deadly going forward. Looks a little off pace but it's understandable and this is still his pre season being only his 4th game.

Needs to improve defensively but I have faith that he will become one of the worlds best in his postion.

Delighted that you've made this point mate. Mendy and Walker aren't just fantastic footballers, they're the gel that this team needed. Characters. We went through a period where we were trying to distance ourselves from the Balotelli and Tevez characters, in doing so we lost something that all good teams need. These two are going to be fantastic for us on and off the pitch.

I agree completely, this is one of the main thing that could keep the dressing room happy even though they don't get to play much.

I've noticed Bernardo Silva is popping up with a lot of different people on social media too - he speaks English, Portuguese and French so he can basically socialise with anyone, although he's obviously not the extrovert Mendy is, that'll all help knit the group together.
 
Not impressed with his performance yet.

Off the field, he is the best , on the field maybe he still needs time to adjust and show his real quality.
