I actually met Mendy yesterday, and was surprised by how relatively subdued he was. Was expecting a larger than life character, but he was pretty quiet and didn’t seem particularly happy to be honest. Not sure if he’s just trying to keep his head down after his bollocking, or if he’s sulking about it. Hopefully he’ll knuckle down now and concentrate on getting back to fitness, and try to win his place back in the team.

He definitely is not acting as he should away from the pitch, and will need to substantially change that behaviour if he wants to remain at City, but I don’t agree with that characterisation. As @karen7 said, he is a rich lad with some questionable influences that is making mistakes, none of which are catastrophic or directly harming others (that we are aware of). I know very few people, myself included, that made not a single stupid mistake when they were younger. Or older, for that matter. And the vast majority of us have only had a small fraction of the influences, expectations, and (especially) scrutiny that Mendy experiences regularly. He’ll either mature and right the ship, or be off to somewhere else (a la Mario, Samir, Joey, etc.). But I have no reason to malign him as a person at this point (and definitely no cause to take to many threads to bash him).

My original response to you was never about Mendy’s behaviour, as I pointed out originally, so this is not confirming anything for me.

No you accused me of trolling when infact I am just completely bored of his playing up already. I don't want anything to jeopardise the team. The hacks will jump on anything as shown on Friday with Ogden and Durham.

Of course I want him to succeed but that starts at the training ground and if he isn't turning up in a timely fashion, it's not a good start. I'd rather he was there doing extra training on facing a winger up one on one so he can become the best full back in the world which I believe he has the potential to be

Good. He shouldn’t be happy pissing his opportunity at City up the wall. He’s not able to control injuries, but he can control everything else. Pretty soon he’ll realise Pep has just changed the course of his career.

I said in an earlier post he was probably on his last warning. After reading sammy goal’s post today I’d say he is in last chance saloon. If he can’t see the opportunity that he has got at city then he is a total and utter fool.

I'm sure he'll have taken Pep's words on board and knuckled down.

We certainly don't want to risk losing him and having to fork out about £40m on Danny Rose.

I was only remarking to Kevin Kennedy (who played Curly Watts in ITV's Coronation Street from 1983-2003) the other day what a tiresome name-dropper you are.

Good comment.

I'd have been more surprised, having just earnt himself a weeks detention,to hear he was anything but unhappy.

He should be disappointed in himself and, more importantly,he should never want to experience that feeling again.

Pep has brought a great harmony and balance to this club,he wont allow anyone to put that at risk.

Banned from the first team for the whole week.

I'm not sure how much is Pep coming down on him like a ton of bricks because he said he had to stamp.out any complacency, and how much is Pep just getting increasingly pissed.

If he's "banned" from turning up for a week how can get treatment for his foot injury ? I'm not convinced this is as serious as is being made out in here (or in the media either).
