well this is just nonsense. blaming his injury last year on him? seriously?
and his social media activity is a non sequitur. He posts no more than the average footballer and even regular person his age. Hes a big personality and hes charisma. Thats it. in his brief cameo and starts hes been immense. suspect defensively at times but thats about it.

Mendy is a beast. fit, he'll be here for a long time.

I like him. I love his attacking ability, he can certainly cross a ball and will be a huge asset against weaker teams at home. I think he best suits a 3-5-2 system .

I really don't mind his twitter stuff, they're all at it these days.

However, it is fair to say i worry about his defensive positioning against better sides and i worry he takes up the same space Sane likes to operate in .

This is frankly nonsense the challenge was virtually in front of where I sit, it was a little clumsy at worse but far less reckless than some of the challenges that Zabba used to put in in his early days with us.
It wasn't a great attempted tackle but you see far worse every week.

Genuine question to those questioning his defensive ability (and anyone else who has a view), but is it not possible that these perceived weaknessses and gaps being left by Mendy are also down to Pep's instructions? Mendy is asked to do a different job to Delph and he contributes a lot more up field. Seems inevitable to me that Mendy will be caught out more as he can't be in two places at once, but surely he has to prioritise being where Pep asks him to play?
