Excuse me a moment.
The world and his little dog, if they aren't a City fan, are saying that when City were exonerated by the CAS (and if they are exonerated on the 115 charges count), it is because it's it's impossible to make the charges stick for lack of evidence. Thus, City are still considered to be not guilty, rather than innocent, in the eyes of everybody who is in bad faith, and whose interests it serves to consider that there is therefore a stain on every single trophy that City have won since 2008, and that there will be for ever and a day.
I don't know Benjamin Mendy, and I never will. No idea if he's a nice guy, or not, and I don't give a toss. Don't know if he's rich or not (he is), and I don't give a toss. He is not guilty of rape, and I'm not going to finesse terms, that means that he did not commit rape as far as I'm concerned. His life has not been ruined, unless you consider that every time he walks into a pub or a restaurant there are people who'll look at him in a funny way as if to say, “Yeah, we know you did it, but we know what these hot shot lawyers are capable of, don't we?” Or they may just outright say it to him, if they're looking for a fight (which they'd probably love, because they could get their mate to film it on their mobile and then they could then sue him).
I have never commented on this subject, and have never felt tempted to, until now, when I felt obliged to point something out. This will be my last word on this particular subject.
