Benjamin Mendy leaves City | Launches “multi-million-pound” claim against club over unpaid wages (p118)

"why would any woman lie"

Money, look at the Mbappe situation now, these guys have an image to protect and rather than go through the grisly details in a courtroom , it's easier to pay someone off however wrongly accused they have been.

If you think this doesn't go on you must be very nieve, there are many evil women out there, just like there are men.

And another point the man/woman accused of rape should be given immunity like the accusers until guilty.

You quite conspicuously didn't answer her question.

Sorry Kaz but I don't agree with "why would a woman lie" and "extremely rare", Unfortunately there's women out there that do make this disgusting allegations against men.

Those woman who make these false allegations should get a seriously long time in prison, It's a kick in the teeth to victims of rape and also trying to get men falsely imprisoned.

On the flip side of that in my opinion we also have men who do rape women and not enough substantial evidence to get then convicted as the majority of times it's one word against another.

If only we lived in a world without any of this disgusting behaviour going on.
I said rare a women gets charged with lying in court, seems some men on here want every woman who loses their case to be done for falsely accusing the man , even though we know that it is hard to get convictions

Being a shagger isn't illegal. Just ask our captain. Women trying to take advantage of footballers (not for the first time) is the real (possible) crime here. He has been wronged. He got his career and wages taken away, wrongly. We provided no support and treated him as guilty until proven otherwise. He is clearly right and that is why he has been paid out. Good luck charging him, there is a reason why we won't do it. Because it is fucking stupid.
Alright Mendy calm down.

I don’t agree with your stance. Bringing Walker into does not strengthen the argument. He hasn’t be locked up as far as i am aware nor did he not perform his contractual duties.

Defending mendys behaviour is not a good look.

On a purely monetary level he is entitled to be paid wages following his non conviction.

I am merely stating that city have also been wronged financially due to the situation he brought about in some respects.

Why would any of these women actually go to the police, if their motive was a pay off? And why go further and go to court, which is going to be a hugely unpleasant experience, with people who don't know you accusing you of lying, and the risk of your name coming out on social media?

Women being taken to court for lying about being raped, are much rarer than convictions for rapists. The reason is that any obvious lies would likely come out during an investigation. By the time you get to court, the police and CPS are aware of both sides' stories, know who they believe, and have decided there's a good chance that they can convince a jury.

Get a guilty verdict , then after go after his cash or the worst, sell their story.

I am not taking this further , rape is rightly a very emotive subject but there are some very evil people of both sexes who use it to make false accusations.

Wasn't there a case last year that was all over the news Elanor Williams I think her name was lying about being raped along with other things, I can't remember the whole story but it was going on for a while.

Why on earth she done it I don't know, She ended up getting 8 years or something along those lines.

I'm not for a single second saying "all women" lie about this crime because its certainly not the case as I've stated in my previous posts, For some reason like the woman above I've mentioned lie about it.

There was, and I believe the only person who ended up being tried was her.

The fact that we remember her story, and not many of the thousands of rape cases that go to court each year, suggests her case is the unusual one. Even though the police took her claims seriously, spent a lot of time investigating, and arrested multiple people, yet still didn't take anyone to court, apart from her, suggests that actual rapes and sexual assaults are a much, much bigger issue, than the tiny number of false accusations.
