Benjamin Mendy leaves City | Launches “multi-million-pound” claim against club over unpaid wages (p118)

What about the English law premise of ‘innocent until proven guilty’?

Does this not apply after a court case is finished? If so he’s innocent and not just not guilty
He is innocent, in the eyes of the law. That means he isn't going to prison, and he isn't a convicted rapist.

It does not tell us with absolute certainty what happened between him and those women.

It may be, as some seem desperate to believe, that some or all of them falsely accused him for personal gain.

It may also be that they were all totally genuine accusations for which the prosecution failed to provide compelling enough evidence.

We can't know what happened. We can't know what Mendy or his accusers knew or felt at any given time, or who is telling the truth. This is why rape cases are so hard to prove.

We all know guilty people go free, and innocent people go down. It's rare, but it happens. Not trying to cast doubt on this verdict - but there is quite obviously a difference between conviction and guilt.

Catterill at Sky doing a post verdict hatchet job on Ben Mendy.

The bad toothed fucker deserves a beating for his intrusive and invasive behaviour on the steps of the court.

Mendy made him look a proper shallow, insensitive, small time **** !!

Which is obviously appropriate / applicable

Going forward but the first injury against Palace was down to getting himself in a pickle defensively and trying to block the winger with his leg, it was too early to judge.

Good luck to the lad going forward, he will need it. I hope city at least paid his severance pay for this month.
So it was his own fault he got injured ? Fucking hell...

‘Not wishing to cast doubt’ ….Well you could have fooled me

Nobody is forgetting anything.

He's been cleared of any wrongdoing. He is a free agent. He is still believed to be financially comfortable.

How is his life ruined?
He is probably £10M worse off, has no future in football or as a pundit, his name and reputation are ruined, he has been unable to play the game he lives for the last 3 years, missed out on PL CL and WC Finals…..maybe not ruined but certainly damaged
