What's your opinion on Mendy? I've only seen him a few times, usually against tough opposition (Juve/Dortmund/City) & he seems to have struggled with tricky wingers. But on the flip side he's often caused havoc with his attacking play.

How would you judge his defensive side of the game?

Best offensive LB right now, improoving defensivly.
Physically, he's just not human.
He still struggle on 1v1 but only gets better.
Highly mental-reliant.

Absolutely zero doubt in my mind that that story is about Monaco basically pushing City higher with the fee. There's no way that City are bidding blind without knowing that he wants to come to us. Monaco will be saying "United are offering this, pay it or we'll sell him there". Games.

Spot on. City would never ever openly go into a bidding war with a player. We agree deals and get the okay of the player before agreeing the fee with the club. This is down to the final negotiations of the fee.

I think there's some merit in the story doing the rounds that Soriano + co left for Abu Dhabi with these deals done. Imagine if City drop a new signing a day over the weekend then Khaldoon's interview Monday!

The media team would love that too. Didn't we unveil 3 or 4 signings in very quick succession last season? Like Sané, Jesus, Mooy, Moreno, Stones in the space of a week?

For 54M€, hell yeah.
He's like a brother for Mbappé, it's the only negative point that I see to this moove. It can be the "too much one" when Kylian will have to make his decision. He's an amazing player, but frequently injured, and i'm sure we will replace him with another good one.
