do we still think Pep is going to try again to shift to a back three next year? can Mendy play in a back three?

We will play a back three but not every week. Pep sets up in the best way he thinks will defeat an opponent, not a universal formation to beat all.

Mendy and Walker as wing-backs in a 3-4-3 would be a good watch though.

Nevertheless you can still form an opinion of what you have seen - it's just that for that opinion to be valid you need

a) to be able to process information, and
b) have adequate data

Of course. But the fullback role in England has specific requirements alone and within that the full back role, the fullback role in Peps team requires even more specific skill sets.

I'd argue it's impossible to have adequate data within such a small sample size. Gael Clichy played well in about 5 games last year

Looks like the original report was from SFR Sport..they have 71k followers on twitter so understandable people believe what they said.....the wait continues!;)

INFO SFR SPORT. Announced for several days near Manchester City, Benjamin Mendy has taken a big step forward towards the club coached by Pep Guardiola. The champion of France with Monaco would have indeed flew to England this Sunday afternoon.

After Bernado Silva, will Manchester City continue its summer market start with a Monegasque sound? A recent French champion with the club du Rocher, Benjamin Mendy seems to be getting closer and closer to joining the club led by Pep Guardiola . According to information from SFR Sport, the international side would have flown this Sunday afternoon in direction of England via a private jet. Information that appeared to confirm the player himself who posted a snapshot from the device on his Snapchat account. Mendy spent the evening of Saturday in Marseilles, city of his old club, after leaving his home Monegasque. And now is close to City, a club that has had its priority since last week.

Perhaps it has more to do with your reading that what was said. I never said that about Sessegnon.

And for what its worth, this nonsense of "oh you couldn't have seen that many games" is a silly retort. I have seen about 8 to 10 games of Theo, I only needed the 1st two to be convinced. The others only helped my n
Knolege. I've seen Monaco at least 20 times thus season so about 12 thaveo 15 of those involved Mendy. But even if it were the case that I had seen less it still won't matter.

No one questions my opinion about Delph even though I've only seen him 4 or 5 to.re this year. Yet when I or anyone else opines about Delph none of the "muppet makers" moan about having not seen enough of him. Nor so they disavow themselves of their opinions on limited knowledge.

Sure I've seen David and Kev more than Theo or Mendy. But I have an accurate enough picture of both Mendy and Theo. And I didn't need 30 games to do it.

So I always laugh when folks come with the "Oh I bet you've only seen so and so games."
Have you ever considered you may have fuck all idea about what makes a good footballer and that people that are payed to do so, might have more knowledge, I know it's left field thinking but I'm out there baby

If that's the case then why do any of us bother posting any of our opinions on anything football related? We're not scouts, we're not managers, we're not referees, we're not directors of football, we're just fans.

If you're seriously suggesting that the city heirarchy know more than the bluemoon experts you're seriously deranged... or just enjoying the bank holiday spirit ;)

There's a difference between an informed opinion, a fact and a random "I pulled this stuff out of my arse 2 seconds ago". I genuinely despise people who try to act like their holier than thou bullshit is the truth and their farts smell like Chanel 5.

Good point, I've no idea why they feel the need, it's more posting opinion as fact, it doesn't make it so.
