Bercow stepping down

Know his onions and has applied it properly and with an integrity that has been lacking in the kindergarten he's presided over during his time.

Worried about who's next because they won't be as good.

It more than likeley be senior deputy speaker Lindsey Hoyle who is a Labour MP, a Lancastrian from near chorley and a stickler for members behaving

Reminds me of Boothroyd, she never took any shit and was direct too.

He’s been a brilliant speaker. Of course the Tory twats get their way but wasn’t he an original member of the ERG before it was taken over by basket cases?

He is a tory, but a parliamentarian first, the shithousery and disregard for parliament and it's traditions and behaviour recently of the government obviously means that him having to drag them into sensible politics can at times looks slightly one sided, but in the 10 years as speaker he has been very good at it

The lack of respect and applause for his speach from his own party and the front bench is pathetic imho.

To be fair that's what I thought, at first, but the speeches were very generous and entertaining from both sides of the house. Even Peter Bone said something worthwhile. There's definitely a difference in the way he treats some people than others though, but generally think he's been pretty good.

He is giving the front benchers some grief atm as they have obviously pissed him off.

As he just said he bound by the legislature of the law not the executive members whims and fancies
Yes. He did it in the face of real pressure as well. Brave and principled.
