Berlusconi on Pep, Balotelli and City

I'm still unsure on how good Pep is, he's got a great record at one club and its a club that is guaranteed to finish in the top 2, with the players he had at his disposal he'd have to be an absolute loser to not do well with them. I don't want RM to be replaced but I can't help but think some of the adverse publicity he's brought upon our club and his abrasive attitude will not be looked upon well by our owners, especially scrapping with one of his own players.

I thought I was being generous because I know a lot of people on here, for all his faults, like the guy, and the scarves and fruit pastilles and what not so I thought I'd soften my criticism of him.

But the reality is, hundreds is an enormous underestimation. Half the world knows that, with all the talent we have at City (I think we've probably got one of the top 5 best squads in the world), we have next to it an Italian circus that has caused us big problems before and will cause us big problems again.

Even Berlusconi, an ageing man up to his eyeballs in litigation, criminal proceedings, a marital breakdown, and at one time, an obligation to run a country crippled by debt, can see that there's a 'rotten apple', and a man who entertains him at the expense of the club's success.
I think the only person who is qualified to choose our next manager is someone who has played football both with and against Danny Welbeck.

And if Mancini does the double?
He doesnt need to win the double to stay.
Well; unless he wins the league, he'll be on very thin ice. The owners are looking for year on year progress, and so far Bob has achieved that (CL, qualification, then the FA Cup, then the PL). I'm not sure winning the cup this season would be seen as progress, to be fair. Plus our poor performances in Europe won't have helped him. True; that was a demon of a group this season, but the actual ''performances'' (not just the results) were poor. Hopefully he'll win the league again for us.

If its year on year progress,does that mean we have to win the league every year?
I know the cl is the big talking point,i just think we need a few seasons in it first
Title win and he is a certainty to stay and deservedly so
F a cup win a 2nd place in the leauge(with a good points total) who knows,wouldnt be the end of the world.

and i don't want anyone to replace mancini unless mancini wants to go. And i dont think the majority want him to, i think the idiots that will believe what they think everyone else believes might, but if we had some clarity i think mancini would get the vote.

People need to realise that Mancini doesn't win the league or FA CUP he's gone. Pep is out there and has a better relationship with our 2 new hires than Mancini ever could. Hiring him is seen as a no brainer

I love Mancini but business is business
yes business is business and football is football.

football = fans

mancini = fan favourite

upset fans = bad business

unless.....

ruin reputation of mancini (MEDIA) leading up to replacement = idiot fans turn on favorite manager

less upset = slightly better business

Yep completely agree.

In short Mancini is our man and there is nothing he cannot achieve that Pep would achieve, if he was backed properly. Secret undercurrents and people working behind the scenes trying to undermine the very man who is trying to achieve on field success is the stuff of Abramovic's Chelsea and not Manchester's premier club.

If this is true, and anyone who is reading this at the club is part of it the pack your bags and f*ck off because it is you that is not welcome.

For any City fans on here who think this is a good idea; have a word with yourself for God's sake. We've had nearly 2 generation of turmoil and failure that Mancini has cured and you want it back again!

Backwards move. Mancini has a good, solid grip of the English game now. People say that with the stars Brazil have had over the years, anyone could manage them. Same goes for Barca. Guardiola had at his disposal some of the best players in the world, and thee best. Managing a club in a country he knows nothing about in terms of the football will be a completely different ball game.

Would be gutted for Mancini if that happened, and would get ready for a settling in period for Guardiola whilst he adjusts to the league, and of course the city in his homelife, which would no doubt have a knock on effect on his ability in the job in the first place.

Massive gamble if true.

I'm with you regarding Pep appointing him could set us back 2 to 3 years! only manager I'd have if Mancini does go is Mourinho because he won't be a gamble

Exactly. I remember a couple of years ago on here one of the Liam's kept on insisting we go for Villas-Boaz, simply because of what he was doing, (then), in the Portuguese league. Look how he turned out, and whilst he may end up doing well at Spurs, he crumbled at Chelsea in my opinion.
